I purchased a 48v 10AH battery from BMSbattery. It does not work, and will not take a charge. I emailed them, and this is their reply:

"Hi sir
Look at the picture i sent , you can short out the two metal sheet (the site mark at the picture),sorry to cause trouble."

they sent this picture, with an arrow pointing to a transistor. The transistor does not have a button to push, so needs to be shorted. What do I do? How do I short it?
Here is the picture:

How does one go about shorting the transistor?? They gave me the same advise, but I do not know how to short it. I do not want to damage anything, so if anyone knows how to do this it would be very appreciated if you could help me.

A short means there is direct contact between two points. If they want you to short that component, take a pair of metal tweezers, a wire, or something similar and touch the solder point on both sides of the component at the same time.

So I took the plunge and decided to go ahead and short the BMS unit.
There was a small spark, and then I rechecked. It now registers at 24 V, which I guess is some improvement, but it's still will not take a charge. I am afraid that the BMS unit is damaged. I am going to request that they send me a new one and then I will attach that and see whether or not there is any damage. When I checked the positive and negative wires running directly from the battery, they read 48 v. So the battery is still in good shape, and it is probably just the BMS. This is very frustrating, since this is a new battery and has not been used at all. The overall quality of the battery looks good, and it is lightweight and compact. I was really hoping that this could prove to be a good quality battery, and a good alternative to the heavier batteries available.
Thank you all for your help.
