Help with Motor Not Starting, Sputtering.

After fixing a flat and reinstalling my rear/hub wheel my motor won't start. Bike has power but seems to only provide spurts to the motor. Ran through the wiring and found some points of interest I'm hoping for guidance with. Initial sputtering: here the green LED on the Superharness seems consistant and was before...

My wires were badly crimped and will be rewired and reconfigured immediately. But is it the problem?

and my new connector blades seems to be sparking and singeing more than it used to. I've been sliding it in real slow after chipping my old connectors, (no on/off button on the battery), if that makes a difference...

After straightening the wires (and checking for all loose connections) I got the same response but now the Green LED is flashing. Did the un-crimping change something?

Check the motor's hall sensor connection; sounds like a poor connection there.

Charred contacts not ideal either. For that, WD40 or the like will suffice if that's what you have - blast, scour with paddle pop or wooden kebab stick, toothpick perhaps, then blast again.

WIth the wheel off the ground, the controller doesn't pull much power at all. You can get by with poor contacts, but after you get the motor spinning right again, maybe the contacts should be looked at and fixed. I recall being able to ride small hubmotors with frayed wires on the XT60 down to like six strands of wire.

Do you have a nine pin motor connector? The most likely cause, in my opinion. is it was disconnected to change the tire, and then reconnected poorly. If it was disturbed, open it again and check for bent pins. Make sure you aligned the arrows when you plug it in. Make sure it's firmly seated. , Most ebike displays will throw an error code if the motor cable was attached incorrectly or if any of the sensor wires were not connected.

If fixing bent pins on the motor connector, pull the battery. The pins are on the motor side, if I recall, so you can straighten them safely, but it's still a good practice to have no power when you try to plug them back in,
