Help!!

I have just bought a Crystalyte 36-72v 20A max 5 series controller and the wheel don't spin. I always hard wire the controller-throttle so my bike don't (run away) when the connector gets wet. Well I cut the connectors off and tossed them in the trash and a few days later when in comes to do the work, I striped wires and found out the colors don't matched. After research, I connected (from controller to throttle) yellow to red, black to yellow, brown to green and blue not connected and no go. When I touch the yellow and blue(from controller) wire with my finger, the wheel spin so I know the controller working or sort of. What is going on? Thank you.

Try blue to yellow instead black to yellow,
and maybe black to green instead brown to green.

Be careful when trying different connections. Some controllers have full battery voltage on one of the wires, which can fry your throttle if connected wrong. On the 35 amp controllers this is a blue or purple wire.

If you have a voltmeter, you can measure the voltage on the throttle wires coming out of the controller. Measure against the battery negative.

It should be possible to determine the functions of the wires on the controller side by measuring.

Perhaps someone else knows the exact color combination for your controller.

I tried the suggestions and I'm thinking it is a bad controller. I tried 2 throttles and no go.

Is still wheel spin when you touch blue and yellow by finger ?

Left the blue unconnected.

First check the voltage between yellow/red and black/yellow should be 5V when green is unconnected

Check the voltage on green (black/yellow to green) - should change when you twist the throttle.

If above dont work try to change brown and yellow

Try yellow to green instead brown to green.
and brown to red instead yellow to red .

and check the voltage between brown/red and black/yellow should be 5V.
And again: check the voltage on green (black/yellow to green) - should change when you twist the throttle.

Tell us the voltage you measured.

The wheel does spin when I touch the blue yellow. I'll get the voltage checked asap.

Don't say thank you - describe what connector was bad (and right colors connections) instead.

This way we all could know more.
