hi. im new here as the title says and i want to introduce myself. i was always about the gas powered vehicles and the internal combustion engines. ive recently just found EV sites that really SPARKED my interest. so i decided to join this board wanting to learn more about EV's. i also take interest to the EV movement mainly because im an electrician apprentice and also i am going to major as an electrical engineer once i am in an actual university. i really like to see electricity be applied to vehicles whether for fun or work.
well enough with the boring jibber jabber. here is my EV that i am currently working on. its a razor knock-off that i put razor electronics on.
here is what i started with
then came the motor
this setup had a 15a motor at 12v running 2 14.4v NI-MH battery packs in parallel, no speed controller. i wasnt satisfied with it so more frankensteining commenced
so that is pretty much the finished project. its the stock razor motor controller batteries and the previous motor i was using. i know, its hacked together but works well. the 3-speed hub/jackshaft was a cool idea at the time but proved to be impractical in the fact that the gears are too wide and i didnt have enough power for it. this project was also a mistake in the sense that i built it on such a small platform. now i am in the process of putting everything on a bike instead so i have a bigger platform to play with. thanks for your time and views
