dammit why can't they make good looking cars? i mean make it low like the tesla, make it stylish and people might actually want one!

Hard to believe that came out of Italy. I bet the designer has been banished from the country forever. Don't usually have much time for conspiracy theories, but I'm starting to think there must be some sinister power at work here, making sure that all small electric vehicles are made to look as ridiculous as possible.

It looks kinda like it ran face-first into a brick wall and had the wrinkles smoothed out.

I've only ever seen old people driving these things around.

I just had a funny vision pop into my head. If someone would photoshop this it would be hilarious. For me, at least.

20" rims w/ spinners
"grillz" :roll:
spoiler
tv, no, tv's on the side
liberal application of gold and chrome
lighting bolts instead of flame graphics
Xzibit and his crew standing next to it

Pimp My Electric Ride...

I must admit I liked the look of the aztek javascript:emoticon('')
Embarassed and I really don't mind the look of this. if it was cheaper and came with camping gear and stuff like the aztek had avail then this might be something.

My biggest complaint on the Aztek styling was the grillework/nose.

I wouldn't know where to start with this trainwreck.

As stated above: from the country that gave us the 308GTB and the Countach??

Come on Guys it's not that bad. I mean we have had some really ugly gas powered monsters over the years as well. personally I don't know why anyone would buy a Scion "box" car.

Lets do a side by side comparrison. This is the big Chevy Avalanche Gas hog (appologies to any Avalanch owners out there).
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h140/iberkt/fuglie.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>
Now look they have similar lines over the wheel wells and the Color on top with the gray on the bottom.

Now I think Tyler is right bhe nose could use some re-working but the rest is not that bad.

whenever i think of a cheap car with two seats and a small amount of storage space i always think of the mr2.

Electric conversions on this have been done before - and i'd like to see more!!! :) there was one guy i found on austinEV that had TWO series wound motors down the trans tunnel :) nice job that!

full of lifepo4 would be MAAAAD

Blue%20MR2.jpg

you could just do a conversion like Gav - http://www.kiwiev.com/ but with more power. On youtube gary said it cost him $12k NZD (motor -4k controller+ misc - 4k + batteries 4k)
- not bad - so about $20k NZD for a conversion with better batteries, and higher speed maybe?

I'd hit it.

It don't look too bad in flat black. Stealths out the weird lines.

Ja... I mostly have issues with Pontiac nostrils. If GM hadn't smacked the Aztek in the face w the fugly stick, it coulda been a bigger success. It's a very versatile vehicle.

:?

I really want a plugin for my next car. To see you can have automatic transmission is good to know. A lot of the kits I looked at so far, talk about a manual transmission. Probably these are much more efficient, but I like the automatic anyway.

I realised that I really hate the time spent at a gas station, the whole experience is annoying. You have to push all those buttons and wait for someone to "authorise" you pump. Swipe a card for a discount etc. Sometimes you have to stick the gas on your credit card. You get gas on your hands, freeze your ass off etc. It's just too darn aggravating. (guess I'm getting old) My wife has a Subaru Outback, so we can use this for long hauls etc.

For a townie commuter (0-45mph), you don't really need gears.

Valence-type batteries could be sweet, lighter and fast charge.

:D

AS TD said, you don't need gears for most driving. Go watch Gav's conversion videos on youtube. He'd leave his car in 1st gear for most of his travelling - only if he was going onto the freeway would he put it into 2nd or 3rd.

you don't want a 100% electric to have an auto box :) - remember electric motors are the opposite of petrol - they are more efficient the faster they spin - ie like to be revved, so you're better to drive it around reving it off its tits, rather than pottering around town in 4th or 5th at low revs.

I live in New Jersey. Here it's full service. apparently it's against the law for us to pump our own gas. Something about us too incompetent to do it properly. So i don't freeze my ass off or get dirty. It does get annoying waiting for 1 guy to pump everyone gas. Only when it's really crowded though. Even then NJ have one of the lowest gas rate in the country. Sweet!!!!
