thinking of buying a used Leaf battery pack
Ive seen the discharge curves of the batteries before and they reminded me of the curves of the 30Q or 40T
and wondered if they could be "desulfated"
it looks severely out of balance to me

i googled nissan leaf battery fires and theres the odd fire but they seem to be a pretty safe battery while in the cars but what about them being used in second life situations?

They don't contain sulfur, so no. They don't work like lead-acid batteries.

If you are referring to the general process of recovering capacity, then no, that doesn't generally apply to lithium batteries. As they age or are damaged, they lose capacity permanently.

There may be special specific situations in which it is possible, but in general, no.

the whole thing weighs 650 pounds
trying to figure out how to get it home
bit of a write up on them
https://www.qnovo.com/blogs/inside-the-battery-of-a-nissan-leaf
could split it up into 4 or 5-72v packs for the boat
40 amps continuous from the boat from 4 packs is like 1/4 C

did some searching on the gen1 packs and a person mentioned you need to fully charge and discharge these batteries twice if they have been sitting for over 6 months, kinda like how i "desulfate" lithium
