hub motor options for tires with stub axles?

I am evaluating putting 1 or 2 hub motors on the front wheels of a 4 wheeled rhoades bike. They use single sided stub axles on the front. I am not finding much and am not sure if this would even be the best option vs a single large motor driving the rear axle. Obviously this would mean I would have to do less fabrication of brackets and such. Just trying to figure out what i am getting myself into.

There are some around, but the best option is probably the Grin All-Axle motor, as it's been used to do this for a trike before:

so adapters already exist to mount them this way, and route the wires, etc., and it has a sturdier axle capability than the common Chinese junk that's out there.

there are also a few quad threads that have info you might use. Not everything in the list is relevant; you'll have to poke thru to see which are.

There's probably others taht don't show up in that search.

Another term used is "single-ended axle" vs "stub".

Thank you very much. Your post also helped me understand who the "Justin" is that is mentioned in a bunch of posts. I had trouble figuring that out.

This will be my first build and I am a bit over my head already. The grin all axle motor looks like what i was wanting but the cost and technical knowledge needed for that is not where i am at. I think a single rear axle motor is a better place to start for a newbie!

I had ran into both of those threads on the rhoades bikes but they were not helpful with this. It had not occurred to me to search for quad. I will have to dig through those.

I am not sure what quad you have ( You should post make and model ) so I do not know how the rear wheels are driven with the chain,
But with a Guess , the best system for you would probably be a " Stoke Monkey " system from Grin.
That would also allow you to use gears , helpful if you live anywhere near hills.

Grin Technologies has systems for every kind of bike, and from what I have seen they have done more different styles of conversions than anyone else on the Planet.

Not exact, but:
4 wheeled rhoades bike

Why not use a 3kW Cyclone motor on the rear axle/chain drive? Only one motor and controller needed then.
What weight and speed are you going to go with?
If the weight and speed needed aren't too high and the hills not too steep you can even use a 750W tricycle kit.

I was trying to figure out if there was an easier solution that I had not considered like a hub motor. It is clear that i need to use a motor on the rear axle via a chain. I found this https://cart.electricscooterparts.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=KIT-481000G-25 that will help me skip some steps as I am new to this game. It should be pretty straight forward I think. I just need to get the motor mounted properly and find a battery.

Ok Im going to start a new thread as this one got the question answered. Thank you all
