LOL. I seem to remember an epic train race in the past...
Damn, I'd forgotten all about that! Good memory, that was nearly 3 years ago. The video is set private therefore it never happenedArchitectonic said:LOL. I seem to remember an epic train race in the past...

Not true, but I'll allow it on this occasion because it IS a pretty cool vid and it took me forever to makeArchitectonic said:Whatever is uploaded cannot be un-uploaded
No worries. Yeah you said you were impressed with the rear shock. Its the Manitou Radium Expert 190mm . I spent a while tuning the suspension under Rix advice and set up the ca v3 with a smooth but quick ramp and thermal power roll back.Hyena said:Thanks for loaning me your ride while in Adelaide Ken, I have to say it rode pretty nice, better than I was expecting.
Yeah the shock seemed to soak up the bumps better than my daily ride (the modded diamondback) but then it originally came with a shitty $10 shock set up so maybe the linkages etc aren't optimal.pendragon8000 said:Its the Manitou Radium Expert 190mm . Hyena said:In other news I've just set myself up as the Australian distributor of the Qulbix raptor frames. I'm still working on my own frame design and this will suit a fairly different demographic to the Raptors but for now these are one of the few choices for people who want to run big power, and in my opinion currently the best DIY option (which is why I'm using them).
Right at this point in time I'm offering frame only supply in Australia but will soon (inside of 2 months) offer them bundled with my new higher powered hadron kits and li-ion batteries. For higher power levels again I'll also be offering crown motors with these which previously had a pretty limited market as they didnt fit the majority of bike frames. With the wide 165mm swing arm on these you can retain maximum bicycle pedalability with a 7 sp freewheel. The cromotor gang are still limited to a single speed freewheel, but atleast it'll fit with no mods or headaches!
As an introductory offer if you get in quick on the first batch and because I'm such a good blokeI'm offering free shipping which is a saving of around $200. The exchange rate of the Aussie dollar against the euro puts these at $1500 - that's the total price, delivered.
Given there's no dealers in the US or elsewhere outside of europe I can probably extend the same offer to you guys if anyone is interested ?
More Hyena electric bikes updates soon including new kits, new batteries, new website (badly overdue!), a cool (IMO) logo and most importantly for many, moar vids. Hint: I have my eye on a new quadcopter![]()
what demographic would that be, Hyena: people who want something truly stealthy (not Stealthy!), but still with a decent amount of power?Hyena said:I'm still working on my own frame design and this will suit a fairly different demographic to the Raptors
If the heat was getting up to 100+ on the windings the power would have been lower and made the throttle ramp seem even slower . normally it lurches off the line pretty hard. Seeing as I had all that drama with replacing the broken axle I don't mind having the throttle ramp on the slightly slower side so I don't break another one. Also yeah your 10kw with no ramp would be allot more twitchy than my 6kw with a bit of ramping I'm guessing.Hyena said:And yeah you're thermal rollback was quite seamless. I guess we weren't going going too hard for too long but I didn't notice it.
How much did you dial down the throttle ramp ? I found it quite gentle, perhaps a little too much for getting off the line rapidly. Is it too twitchy on 100v otherwise ? Or maybe you're just running alot less current than I'm used to.
Technically 1hp = 745 watts!, that's almost three times the legal limit! Bookem hyena!Hyena said:
Exactly. Something a bit more 'urban assault' oriented, maybe appealing to the sort of crowd who buys a stealth fighter with crazy bob tyres and uses it only for commuting but doesn't want to attract the sort of attention that riding a stealth in public will earn you. Ah yeah I forgot about the broken axle. I dont want to jinx myself but I'm surprised I've never had one over the years.pendragon8000 said:Seeing as I had all that drama with replacing the broken axle I don't mind having the throttle ramp on the slightly slower side so I don't break another one. haha it'd be an interesting race actually, I can't imagine a 750w ebike would beat a horse, they can be pretty bloody fast!TheBeastie said:Technically 1hp = 745 watts!, that's almost three times the legal limit! Bookem hyena!![]()
