-Using a super cheap mountainboard from Amazon -8" tires
-149kv motor from hobbyking -Forgot what ESC I ordered lol, from hobbyking
-10S 4 Ah Lipo from hobbyking -want the highest top speed that still has enough torque
-Don't have battery charger but that can wait -I weigh less than 120lbs, will not be more than 130 for a year or two

-All parts have yet to be delivered
- will not settle for any speed under 30mph, want to achieve about 40mph at some point, though that's probably something for a second or third model
- obviously I'll be okay with not achieving that on my first build :D .
-Currently wondering what to do about motor mount, *unskilled and lazy  , but can have tools available at some point
-Also wondering what gearing ratio, if that's the correct term, I should use that will work for best speed

will a ratio of 1:4 have one fourth of the calculated speed? don't know how that works

This instrucatables has a motor mount print. it may not be scaled. Mesurment are in milimeters. Buy it in aluminum and then have it cut then welded. A tip and a very important one, when you go to weld it onto trucks, take out bushings or they will melt. Also i think its better to get higher torque for uphills and what not. Most likely you will get speedwobles if you try to go more then 30km/hour unless you tighten up the trucks and which case you wont be able to turn as hard

danke mate
definitively gunna yues dat, however slitely modefided

I also live in middle of nowhere and all roads are long, so fast does not really seem fast other than wind and when you fall  lolz

And I probably have way too high hopes from watching too much youtube :pancake:

danke once more, but me want to try this one for my first model, and then upgrade from there. *ermahgerd it's 1 am* like switching motors stuff

like with the 149 kv what would be best scenario?

definitely gunna save that info btw

sumbody needs to git rid of thim googley bots bruh, like who let them in hur

what is the math behind the ratios? I'm having a really hard time finding that info

So I've been reading up more on the ratios, and there seem to be two important ones.
-what should be the ratio of the sprocket, and ¿/pinion/? diameters?
-I've heard a lot about the teeth ratios, like 12:1? What would best suit a 149kv motor for highest speed? Would highest torque be 1:1?
-Thanks again for any info, I've read this forum a lot lately, but I don't have all the info straight
-This is my new favorite website

Not that I'm planning on using 1:1  lol

Can ur esc do 12s? That's a tall order and I don't remember seeing hobbyking's escs doing that. I'll sell u a motor mount for simply the cost of the trucks, and five for resin, and 10 for shipping. And I'll give u the belts and pulleys and wheels at cost.

Nah man I can't, I gotta make the mount and stuff really specific, because the board is mountainboard style and nothing pre-made is gonna fit it. Thanks though

Board is 32 inches
I try to put picture but it says it is too big

Attempting to post picture...
(If it shows up in this message it worked)

Yes! Finally! Well anyways this is what I'm working with

To me putting a mount on that looks extremely hard. The hanger is so thin and cylindrical. And two different metal types. I've never seen trucks like that but then I've never looked at off road trucks. I don't know anything about welding but given what you have to work with it might be easiest Otherwise a clamp is going to have to sit in that slight ridge. So it seems. Or..or.. Make a motor mount on the axle in every detail out of wax and then make a mold and pour a resin with carbon.

If you get the pulleys and belt done first you'll have parts to work with

Hello I want to put in my 2 bits. I bought a Chinese Electric Mountain board from Alibaba earlier
http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/lithium-battery-electric-mountain-board-with_60129028671.html?spm=a2700.7724857.29.57.ueEJmq
Cost me 900 after shipping.400Kv motor it is a 6s 15ah Geared at 72/12 I've only felt safe taking it to 36Mph but had a little more i could push it it goes about 15 miles before empty. Deck is stiff bindings are garbage the brakes are a joke! but I dont feel like i would need to push it any higher than 6s.
I just upgraded with some Parts and i am regretful. Replaced the motor with tacon 160 245Kv regeared 16/72 My new top speed is 22Mph Brakes on a dime Travel distance is now 7miles. goes up hills like a boss but at only 12MPH saying its not a paved road but dirt gravel. but i can go full 22 up a hill no problem paved road.
I have no regrets with the buy from china. I do regret changing out the motor.
When i converted to tacon 160 i was happy about torque but my top speed and energy efficiency drop rapidly. So im about to go back to a Higher Kv so i can have a higher top speed.
But this being said when i got it stock i never had to push it to start it nor do i now. has great acceleration but poor breaks. From my experience having duel 400Kv motors and good gearing with 6s is more than enough if your not trying to go up and down hills. but my chines mounts are weak if i break to fast or punch it too hard the metal bends which is no biggie cause it doesn't warp. I ride 3 miles every day on it for the last 8 months. I hope the info i provided will help you in your build and what you are looking for If you have any other question please PM me.

Wow you guys are awesome!
Certainly going to look into doing something with those raisins you seem to be addicted to.
Sounds like I'll have upgrade to some dual 300-400kv motors. I'll reserve mr 149kv for when I'm 400lbs
Thanks again guys
