Hi,
for a tight battery Case I want to connect two 18650 cells inline because I have just a little more than 13cm. At first I tried to connect two Batteries an then bend the Ni Strip, so they are standing on top of each other, but I do not like the sharp edges of the bent Strip an fear, that it will pierce the top Insulation of the cell.
I have seen two NiCd Mono Cells connected to each other with a metal "cup", that was first spotwelded to the positive top of one cell an then the second cell was placed insinde the about 5mm high cup an fixed with some spot welds from the side. Do vou know these connectors? Is it possible/recommendable to spotweld a Li cell from the sides? Are they available in 18m dia and where can I get them?
Thanks
holter
I am new here, so some Information about me:
I am from Germany, driving a Grace Easy S-pedelec (cheapest street-legal vehicle faster than 25 km/h here) an have recently purchased a spot-welder from riba. I build battery packs for my bike, for the Pedelecs of my Parents and all the broken tool batteries here. In the garage wait some old lead-acid powered electric vehicles for some Time and a new battery, but they have to wait because with the s-Pedelec I do not really need a bigger EV.
