Morning all, I'm Phil from the north eastern UK, near Durham to be precise!
I've followed the field of electric power for years but have finally dived in to my first build.
It's a hard tail Genesis Latitude with a mid range Shimano group set and a Rock Shox fork that I already had.
I've bought the Bafang 750 kit from EM3EV with a 48v triangle battery.
It's going to be a fun run around for me and also a college commuter for my son.
We've had a few teething issues so far:
The BB didn't want to come out, borrowing a big spanner from work finally did the job, with a G clamp holding the remover and spanner together while I persuaded it to turn....
It's got a 73mm BB which is well out on the standard bolts, so longer M6s have been bought, I'm needing 6 washers to pad out the bracket and didn't want it to hang by a few threads so am cutting down 40mm bolts to fit through.
Only the one lock bolt will go on, so blue lock tight is waiting for the final build up.
Not even touched the wiring yet!
I only get brief half hours to work on it, trying to juggle work and a young child but am making steady progress.
I'll get a pic tonight once the motor is bolted up...
Thanks for all the previous posts and comments, it gave me the confidence to dive in and build!
Cheers..
Phil
