Like the title says a hit a puddle and now my motor is jumpy/notchy its a Mac. I hit the puddle and the I then came to a stop light I went to accelerate and the motor buzzed and vibrated I immediately unplugged the battery and peddled home I tested the hall wires their fine as well as the halls and dried up my connections and its running but jumpy and shakey. Did I ruin my motor? :-( one more thing it only did it at 1/4 throttle.

Sounds like a hall issue. Test the voltages for the halls if you haven't already. Most hub motors are water resistant enough where you wont hurt the motor windings with just rain.

Cheers,

I checked the halls 4.8v and it goes to 0v when I rotate the wheel. All three halls do the same thing it goes 4.8v-0v. I tested on the negative then moved my positive to the green yellow and blue they all behaved the same.

You still have some water in that halls plug, or some dried mud. No cuts at the axle in the wires?

no cuts or on axle wire. i fixed it water got into the plug for the 3 speed switch i unplugged it cleaned with compressed air plugged it back in and all is well in the world whew dodged a bullet this time

Something that I always do is cover my connections in duct tape or electrical tape, as ive had that happen to me before with my plug in headlight. Good that you got it working again.

Cheers,
Ugrd

motor has 6 wires, it cant really get ruined, you can fix all. check for short circuits between any 2, perhaps mark in a pen on the wheel where hall sensors are signalling. wheel is juddering? it could be a phase connection if halls are ok, phase wires/connectors are ok? i had to open a motor twice, frayed wires / rusty hall. also messed anderson plug/hall plug, sometimes i ve had to strip abit of wire above and below the connector to test the connectors, and had to fix the connectors many many times.
