Just received a 48V pack from Aliexpress. Did I get boned?

Tell us about you testing method.

Because if you are going WOT at 30+ mph and getting .725% of you total pack amperage, and not heating the cells in the process then you are doing fine.

I'm using a Tenergy wattmeter. I rode in to work and back today, which I think was something like 16 miles and 8 or 9 ah? I almost always am going WOT with minimal stopping or traffic lights. It hovers around 30mph when I get to full speed. The pack is usually down to around 48v after that commute. And then I just rode in big loops (again WOT) around my neighborhood until it started cutting out. I think it was around 45v at that time but the wattmeter showed a Vm of 41.02v. I think it was showing something like 14.3 ah and I had gone maybe 25 or 26 miles. I kept going for as long as I could by lessening the throttle but I couldn't get much more out of it before the battery itself shutoff. The last time I checked before the shutoff(and reset of the wattmeter) I think it was at 44.5v/14.5ah and I had gone about 27miles.

Did another test today. This time I took it a bit easier on the bike. Was giving it 75%-80% throttle most of the time (around 25 mph). Got to 14.59 ah/45.14 v/28.0 mi before it cutout for the first time. Was able to get it to about 15 ah/43.3 v/29.6 mi before the battery shutoff. I didn't get that much more out of the battery this time unfortunately.

That's actually not too bad. The cells need several cycles of break in to reach their maximum capacity.
Running the pack till it cuts off is not really good for them but the only way to measure capacity.

I have a crappy 20Ah 26F pack. I use it on my hub drive, 1000W and it's fine. You'll get good service from that pack.

in my case they put Fake logos (low voltage and capacity) for shipping ( the delivery service allows only to 100 watt power battery)..

But for the price i couldnt find anything comparable here in switzerland.. so im satisfied.

Even (at least some) of the Luna Cycles batteries are deceptively mis-labelled like that (see my repair/test thread for such a pack).

So that kind of labelling doesn't necesarily mean a pack is junk/etc., just that there are some places don't want to spend the money and/or deal correctly with the regulations for shipping batteries, and prefer to potentially risk lives by (enabilng) sending such things by air where bad things can happen.

I know I'm late to the game, but somehow I just found this thread. I'm really sorry to hear about your misfortune with the battery! When I ordered it for a friend's build, it was a genuine pack, though that was nearly a year ago I think. It seems the vendor has changed the product details on the page since then, as well as they way they build the pack. It's been hard for me to keep up with changes made by vendors, but now I'm taking it off of my recommended list after seeing this firsthand. I'm sorry that my page led you astray. :(
