8 months old and displaying an Error Code of E07. According to my list, this says: Over Voltage Protection-The battery voltage is too high to run the bike? It is the same battery as new, how can that be?

If it happened after a recharge of the battery, the charger could have overcharged it, if the BMS failed to prevent this for whatever reason, and the charger is either factory-set to too high a voltage or it has a problem that causes it to be too high. If you have a voltmeter you can check the battery voltage to verify it's not over what it should be. If it's the bike linked below, it's accessible when the bike is folded, and most of those have + on one outer recessed contact and - on the other outer recessed contact; the center ones are t ypically not used. That bike is a 48v, so if yours is the same, it should read about 52v when it is fully charged, assuming a 13s battery pack. ( a 14s would be a 52v pack and read about 58v full).

It could also be a failure of the controller itself internally; for instance that it has lost it's correct settings and defaulted back to a factory state that leaves it set to a lower voltage.


Is yours like this one? If so it has a display that may have a user-accessible menu that might let you correct a settings issue. Many bikes don't have user-accessble settings, unfortunately, so it's likely that yours does not, either.

I couldn't find a manual for the system in a minute's searching, but if you have or find one it may give further menu options.
