hi folks,

i have a magic pie hub motor with a cycle analyst display on the handlebars.

i left the key 'on' and battery is dead, when i charge battery (48v) it charges for a while, then fan shuts off as is suppose to when battery is charged, but it's not charging long enough to fully charge.
i took it for a pedal run with key 'on', display showed briefly, then displayed 'low volts'.

what can i do to keep charger going to charge battery fully? thanks for your help.

You might have discharged a cell too low, and now the charger will not run for safety. or,, you may have discharged a cell so low it's ruined. You will have to get a voltmeter, and look at each cell or cell groups voltage to find out.

When I did the same thing,, I knew the battery was ruined,,the pouch cells had puffed up unbelievably.

okay, thanks for the advice. i'll check the batteries with my voltmeter and hopefully find the one that's damaged.

update: turns out the key wasn't 'on', it wouldn't go to the 'on' position because the 'lock' pin was not setting itself in the right position on the battery lock/unlock mechanism therefore not letting the key turn to the 'on' position. so all is okay, no damage. i couldn't see the position of the key initially, i thought it DID turn to the 'on' position.
