So. Anyone tried one of these yet?

Only $800. :)

I bought one last month.
I m waiting for my new ebike ca because i was damage the old with the bec on this controller :evil:
I bought it because of the bluetooth live view option that will come in a few weeks.

Cool. Matt warned me that it is easy to blow up the other Kontronik controllers if there is a load at startup so you might want to take some precautions with this one in case it has the same issue. Part throttle performance should otherwise be better than the CC160...

I will test it on an bike stand home trainer and keep an eye on this,i was suprised how big the controller is.
Thx

If it is like the other Kontronik speed controls I have used in helis, it has a noticeably different start mode for spinning up from a standstill. It starts very smoothly then if you listen closely you can hear it switch from this into a normal run mode. The start mode lasts for only a second or two. My guess is you don't want to apply any load until after it switches to the normal run mode.

hm i have read the instructions again there s an extra heli mode with softstart. And one flight mode without emk brake, maybe i try the car mode.

Makes sense. Probably still best to be very careful with startup - use the CA feature to inhibit throttle until you reach a reasonable speed too...

I hope it works. It would be cool to find a throttle that is happier with high load and part throttle than the CC.

Today i managed to turn the controller On .
It starts very smooth in flying mode but i wasnt able to programm the car mode with the ebike ca.
Tomorow i will make my first test drive.

When you say "the ebike ca" do you mean a V3.0 Cycle Analyst?

yes i mean the v3 .I still waiting for the kosmik bluetooth module .I hope they will release it soon.
But programming with the trottle is very easy,only the car mode don t runs.i have no servo tester to programm it now.

its not possibele to programm the car mode because to programm it you have to pull the normal rc trottle to forward and then to neutral ,i hope you understand.But i can t programm the ca trottle this way.

There is no computer interface to program the controller?

its not about the programming, but more the signal the controller expects in car mode.

in car mode an rc controller expects the following signals:

0% throttle -> 100% reverse
50% throttle -> neutral
100% throttle -> 100% forward

and as i understand it, this is not possible with the CA-V3

Set the pulse width at zero throttle on the CA to mid throttle for your controller and set the high point to maximum throttle for your controller. I should think that will allow forward only control. No?

no there s no computer interface to programm the throttle but i think its ok because its not posible to program your throttle from an rc with a computer.ther will be a bluetooth interface soon.
The problem is to programm any mode you have to turn the throttle to zero that the controller init.
and if i program the throttle to 90ms and init the programm mode i can t find 50 %-neutral with my ca trottle.

today i was in my rc shop to programm the car mode.
in car mode the esc starts to sync good above 12kmh start speed.motor sounds very rough.
in fly mode it synced save at 6kmh and sounds more smooth.

I would be more concerned that in "airplane mode" it won't handle low speed starts under load as well, but I'm just making a guess...

i have driven 45 km in flight mode .At my first ride i had some sync issues at low speed it was under 10 kmh .But now i can start up at 6kmh with no issues.Maybe it has" learned" the best conditions to run.
I will drive some km with higher startspeed and tell you about.

Today i testet the car mode again,it was a little 28 km Tour.
I don t managed to start with full throttle without a little struggle.
So i turned back to the flight mode without brake and im very happy with it !
At another 30km trip kosmik stayed cool -not handwarm all the time (i was laying my hand on it from time to time) and has no sync issues above 7 kmh ,on hills too!
Maybe if i open the clutch a little i can start the throttle earlier but i like this beat on my neck :mrgreen:

Cool. Could it be the Kosmik is a practical alternative to the CC HV160?

I hope it ,
i have not many experience with the cc my first was an 120 but it was much to small and lived only a few minutes.
After that i bought a yge 160 that died without any noise after an 160km ride ,with some overheating cutoffs on a long hill climb, so i worked a little more on weekend to buy the cosmic and hope it will be the last one that i bought.

What is your motor and its rated Kv?
What is your final drive ratio?
What is the throttle % setting when you are running under high loads?

I have a 80 100 with 180kv on Matts drive with an 78t spoket on the rearwheel.
I can t calculate the final reduction now because the rc calculater is off this time.
I drive with 15s lifepo with 32ah ,the bike is geared for 54kmh now.
Earlier it was geared to high for hills above 10 percent.
