Hi, I have ordered a KT controller and have installed it on my ebike, it has a new 48v 20ah battery connected, it powers up great but when connected to the front wheel hub it feels very jerky when the throttle is turned and to be honest it doesn't feel to fast, there's no marking on the wheel so haven't a clue as to the power, however I do have a rear hub motor which I connected it feels a bit smoother but very slow, it says its a 48v 350w hub, any ideas ??

You need to do a phase combination test on it. Here is a table that you can print off so you can fill in the results.

Keep the throttle low while you are doing the test. Some of the combinations will draw a lot of current.

You also need to set up the P and C parameters for your controller using the display. It’s doubtful they are correct for either motor out of the box.

Here is a link to the KT LCD03 manual for your P and C parameters.

I think I read a post yesterday about a guy having a similar issue. Maybe search for recent posts on “front hub problem”.

Can't seem to find that post, going back to my subject, I'm not sure if I have geared or direct drive motors, is there a way to tell from just looking ?
If you rotate the wheel backwards. with a working geared motor, you will feel the gears engage and hear them turning too. Rotate forward, and the wheel freewheels with lower resistance,.

Oh OK, I just Don what a member suggested, it seems strange that both motors seem to be the same speed, so figured it may be the controller but not 100% as to what settings make a difference
