I have a KT controller and KT-lcd8 and a KT-lcd5 but I can't get the cruise to work even though parameter setting C7 is set to 1.
It worked fine with a KT-lcd3 and same controller!!

Any suggestions welcome!

How are you trying to set it? Speed 7-8mph or more while pedaling?

No idea what model controller you're using. Do you have the one where the 2 wires need to be plugged in together (near the controller) to enable?

I have a switch to turn on-off/set cruise which goes to controller. So, with the KT-lcd 3 I can set it as low (e.g 5mph) as I like or high as I like. But doesn't work with Lcd5 or lcd8. It is a waterproof 9pin? julet plug from display to controller.
Any other ideas?

Best educated guess is that the firmware on the new LCDs is not directly compatible with all features on the controller firmware; the settings either are not being written to the controller from the display, or the display is not writing them to the correct location or in the correct format, or some other data-handling issue is occuring between the two.

It works with the other LCD because it's firmware *is* compatible (was it bought with the controller?).

I don't know if there is a way to update firmware on controller or display, other than the OpenSource firmware available here on the forum for KT controllers and various displays, but that is not the same as the OEM firmware for them....and I dont' think you can go back to OEM fw afterward (it's not available anywhere to re-flash, I think).
