la Nina rears her ugly head

And here I thought Mr. President had the big delta faucet opened to cure it all. 🤔
It was a beta faucet, still has too many bugs so it didn't work. :p

La Evaporadoria: storms continue to evaporate over the world’s largest ocean before reaching our left coast. The wettest year followed by the driest season as if someone flipped a switch.

Goose eggs don’t come in a bigger box than this

Radar from Jaccuweather shows rain moving east, NWS radar shows storm moving south. ABC 7 shows converging cells from the north and south meeting east of here so it better happen soon or we’re still dry.
San Jacinto peak should get a little dusting of the white stuff making for a nice view of the mountain tomorrow.

Missed it by this much:

Been cloudy and windy and pretty cool today, very windy and pretty warm yesterday and the day before.

NWS had a few days ago predicted chance of rain today but predictably that disappeared yesterday. Now they predict higher chance of rain for the middle of this week, but I don't expect it to arrive.

Watch another meager storm evaporating as it approaches Drylifornia.
Instead of an atmospheric river or a hundred year storm we’ve got a couple of one one-hundredth of an inch storms leaving my roses looking blasted. Might have to try to force out some new basal canes by dumping a bucket of water and liquid fertilizer individually on them.

Thursday
Partly cloudy with a chance of showers in the morning, then sunny in the afternoon. Breezy and cooler. Highs 67 to 72. Southwest wind 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.
Thursday Night
Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers in the evening, then mostly cloudy with showers likely after midnight. Breezy and cooler. Lows 43 to 50. Southwest wind 15 to 25 mph in the evening becoming south 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Chance of rain 10 percent.
Friday
Showers likely in the morning, then a chance of showers in the afternoon. Much cooler. Highs 53 to 59. Chance of rain 70 percent. Rainfall up to a half of an inch possible.
Friday Night
Partly cloudy. A 40 percent chance of showers in the evening. Colder. Lows 37 to 43.
Saturday
Sunny and much warmer. Highs 64 to 70.
Saturday Night
Clear. Lows 39 to 47.

This is the forecast precip for the next week. Not a lot, but better than nothing. Of course, the news makes it sound like some huge storm, but this is small. Phoenix is still looking pretty dry. I think that's why a lot of people moved there.

Another 0,13” overnight for a storm total of 0.45” as of 10:am.:)

A smaller front carrying a cellular cloud along might give us a little more:

Still raining

The storm left us with an additional 0,38” overnight which brought the grand total to 1.27” . That’s enough to force the roses and daffodils to come out along with the weeds and the annual rye grass.
Hopefully it will be better also for the dry farmers who planted wheat this year. Citrus, avocados and lavender should benefit too. The Chinese vegetables grown on the valley floor receive irrigation water from a canal directly connected with nearby Diamond Valley Lake.
They’re saying that the rain arrived too late for the poppy bloom to occur. Too bad; the tourist crowd will have to stick to Disneyland for spring entertainment season.
