I like the look of the Felt El Guapo. I have never laced a wheel and I was wondering if I can use the factory rear wheel and just lace the hub of choice right into it? Or are there specific stronger wheels for electric hubs?

Is this a good conversion candidate? Mild 30 mph goal for a cruiser. If so I will start to put together the parts list. There is a used one but like new in my area for 300. I think I can turn it into a slick looking e-cruiser :)

Not only do I dig the green but also the size of the wheel at 50mm wide.

Those are 36 spoke rims, so you're in luck ( all hub motors generally use 36 spokes ). Use sapim 'strong' spokes. They can be ordered from ebikes.ca and many other vendors. These spokes will work well up to, i dunno, 2000-3000W kind of power, given that they are going to be so short. I have those spokes on my magic pie 29er wheel.

I wish yours was 24" lol....I would be all over it. So maybe I should get that hub off you since it will fit the build well being it has no disc brakes. Still need to bring that battery over to see how bad it is.

The pie would be a shitload of fun on a 24" wheel. But you'd hit maybe 19-18mph on 48v. You'd need 72v minimum to really spin it up and get it to be a little rocket.

I was wondering where you went. The bike i currently have is about 100% tuned now and goes like a rocket. Weather's too good to not have something built up yet!!
