Anyone have any experience with these? Found one for $200 on Craigs List and thinking of getting it for my wife as a commuter bike.
The seller emailed me back saying that they had just put a fresh set of batteries in it.

24 or 36 volt ?
The 24 volt bike will do 12mph, Pretty slow imo.
The 36 volt bike goes @ 18mph with some gear noise.
Take it for a test ride.

I wouldn't bother if it's the 24v one. Very slow, and very noisy when ridden fast, like 12 mph. But they are a pretty well built ebike, the frame in particular may be real nice to do something else for you later.

$200 for one with fresh batteries would be a very decent price. I'd want to see the recipt date on those batteries though. Fresh may mean bought two years ago and then not ridden to the seller. About $150 tops to replace the sla's in one. So even with bad batteries, if it's fully functioning $200 is not so bad really. Don't expect huge range unless you buy it some lithium. A few miles is as far as I liked riding one because of the noise. When I put lithium on one, I had a good solid 15 mile range, but couldn't stand riding it that long. Dental drill noisy, all metal gears in the motor.
