I saw Liveforphysics's thread mentioning Chris Paine's latest film and it jogged an old memory.

Does anyone know anything about the specs of the Lexus Concept car from Minority Report?

I remember reading about it about six or seven years ago. As far as I can remember there were no specifics mentioned about the car at all other than it had a really fast 0 to 60 mph pickup, 90 mph top speed and a 500 kilowatt mid-mounted motor (although I find that very hard to believe).

Does anyone remember it at all?

The only details I have ever found on it are for the fictional specifications of the car as seen in the movie, rather than the actual specs for the car as-built. This page:

I'm pretty sure is just listing the fictional specs. Same here:

which states that the specs come from Toyota, though I think they are for what the concept of the car is intended to be, rather than what it can actually do.

No specs here, but some background on the designer's process:

Yep, pretty much the same things that I found. It would have been interesting to see what the actually car was capable of considering it was realised in only a couple of weeks. It could do 70 mph anyway but who knows for how long.

Yes...various dragstrip cars can do really quick speeds but not for very long. I forget what the range is for the White Zombie, for instance, when including a drag run but no recharge.

With what I have laying around here, I could probably put together a basic EV car (if I had a car) that would do 70MPH...for half a mile. Either the motors would burn out or the batteries would die, given the loads on them and the sizes of what I have.
