Hello,

Is it legal to bring an e-bike with a LiFePO4 Ping Battery on Amtrak trains or on buses such as Greyhound?
I know there are aviation restrictions...are there any restrictions for the ping brand lifepo4 on e-bikes for public transit?

Thank you.

I don't know of any, but you would need to check directly with any particular transit company to find out their specific rules.

Each train or bus would have it's own rules.

Best approach might be remove the battery and just hide it in a backpack for the ride. And don't say shit about the bike being electric. There will be signs saying no on some vehicles, but with lifepo4 I'd ignore them if I was holding the pack in hand. Take reasonable precautions against a wire shorting in your bag of course. You should have already protected the naked pouch pack, and the wires that come off it against chafes and dings. You should already have it rigged so you could get away with dropping that ping from 4 feet without it getting any damage. If you didn't...

I'd say stay off with cheap RC packs though.
