hi.
please give arguments for the choise you recommend.
the voltages written on the controller are 41-48v 22A
1. will the 7s+7s be too much and the controller will shut off?
2.will the 6s+6s be too little when the battery would be mostly consumed and the controller will shut the battery because of the low voltage?
3.will the 6s+6s performance be low after half the battery is consumed? or would the voltage go lower than 41 because it will be under load?
4.charging 6s and 7s separately with one balance charger is possible, right?
5.on a 6s+7s i have a problem finding the same C in my country. for example would it be ok to link 6s 10C constant/25C maximum 10 seconds and 7s 25C constant ? is there a minimum number for C needed for my setup? would 10C be ok?
6.is it ok if i match 6s 5200mah with 7s 6000mah? i know it will cut off the battery sooner, but will there be damage in the long term?
7.am i benefiting of the full power of the motor if i have 20C and 6s+7s 5000mah? or must i have something like 6s+7s 10.000mah to get full power?
thanks

1. No. 14s is 58.8V charged. Don't discharge below 48V resting.
2. No. 12s is perfect for most 48V controllers with an LVC of ~42V.
3. Performance will be less with any battery as voltage drops. but there's very little sag with rc lipo.
4. As long as you have at least a 7s charger.
5. I'd want the same C rated packs, but it's not needed.
6. As long as you don't over discharge one, there's no problem.
7. A 5ah pack will sag more than a 10ah pack, so under heavy load you will lose more power.
I'd use either 14s or 12s, nd not mix 6s and 7s packs if you plan on using an rc charger, unless you have a 14s charger.

thanks for the thorough response. :) how did you do 10ah 24s lipo with 217$?
what range would i get from 12s 5ah at 20mph? i have made the math, just asking to double check.

Bought them on sale last year from hobbyking.com. 5ah 12s pack will get you about 10 miles at 20mph on level ground, not much wind.

very nice. were they 6s packs? what was the mah? any idea when i could expect another reduction in price so that i could buy?

I bought 2 packs for $180 each from USA warehouse. First was 12 5ah 4s 20C Turnigy hardcase packs for $15 each. Other was 6 10ah 4s 10C multistar packs for $30 each. Shipping was $37 each time. I have no idea when or if they will go on sale again. I got email notification when they went on sale. I put over 15K miles and 4+ years on my first 12 5ah 4s 20C Turnigy hardcase packs and I'm still using them at ~90% capacity. Running 24s doesn't require a big C rate to get the power you need. I'm sure that's why they lasted as long as they have.
