Hi. After some exchange with others on this topic I built my own home-made load tester using bailing wire. (BTW, it worked fine and my 18650 cell modules performed wonderfully!).

However, I was wondering if any of you have tried using a carbon pile load tester. They are not that expensive. See https://www.amazon.com/ATD-Tools-5489-Variable-Battery/dp/B00IITSB7Y/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1496413322&sr=1-1&keywords=carbon+pile+load+tester

These are made primarily for 12-volt car batteries, but I don't see why they couldn't be used for load testing ebike battery packs. Anybody tried using these for load testing?

Gracias por adelantado
Mike S.

nichrome wire. cheap. easy to use. easy to get the resistance/power you want. no need to bother w/ anything else

that's 2000w right there w/ 2 unused coils. you could easily scale this up to whatever power you need
