That's the first stupidly expensive production ebike I've seen that has any business being stupidly expensive. Too bad they went extra stupidly expensive. If that's what it takes to finally convince the world that ebikes can be a serious and seriously awesome mode of transportation, I'll let a few rich 'suckers' buy those. Better than another gas burner.

you've got it right... sure its all custom built by hand with the finest ingredients and exclusively for the ultra-rich, but hey, if you've got the bucks and part of the "jet set", into fashion and luxury, go for it. I wouldn't call it stupid - seems like a smart play. no production, its by order, like one of kind dresses by name designers. I could live selling just one of those a year. Why aren't some ES'ers following suite and building at the very high end?

Impresive. Yes, Stupidly expensive, but it appears you're actualy getting your money's worth with it... for a pure luxury bike.

The more of these "Super Bikes" that get produced, the more ebikes will be accepted into mainstream society.

I'll take your word on that as I really don't know. I suppose custom titanium, aeronautical grade aluminum and carbon fiber costs, but $38,000? I'd be halfway to buying a Tesla Model S, so I would go there instead. Still the challenge is a high end ebike capable of that kind of longevity, speed and style, but within range of an average buyer. Once the fashionati start riding these things because they're cool and in style, I'm sure the demand will ratchet up. Question is what ES'ers will be ready on the supply side?

I think it's pretty cool. You at least get something that should perform pretty well for your money. We've seen more expensive ebikes in the past that you didn't get jack-squat your money.

Remember, for some folks $38k is what it costs each week to keep your yacht sitting at the dock. Getting a rad ebike for $38k might be the best bargain they buy this year. lol

I don't like where they say it's the most powerful ebike though. I know my bicycle puts down 30x more power than theirs.

Well, yea, of course. Having perused a number of build threads here at ES, there are a number of examples that could be followed yielding faster, more powerful, longer range. But a lot of these are ugly. Something having all the necessary characteristics, that'd be really cool. I mean also having style, grace, beauty and shine.

Speaking of yacht's, the fashionati and ports - I could see one of these as a necessity, an extension of the equipment on board. I could see some sleek beautiful young thing on board whose chore port to port is to build & maintain the ships fleet of ebikes (there is usually captain, crew, owner and friends). There was a time once when I was crew on some sail boats owned by the rich - my dad was one, so I had access. Dockside, getting around was always a bit tricky usually deferred to the local cabies. But crew were usually poor and walking worked best, as it was the local dockside pubs that were the usual destination. I could see some ebikes in the equipment mix, along with solar panels and wind turbines. Yea, there is a company making some wind turbines that get hauled to the top of the mast while dockside to charge up all the boat's batteries. Island hoping in the Caribbean often means anchored in an atoll without the benefit of an electrical hookup. So the ebikes on board can do double duty as battery array to augment the lead acid batteries in the keel. Yea, someone at some time figured out that the lead in the keel that keeps sail boats aright could be a battery bank instead.

So there you go, ES'ers there's a high end market niche there to be exploited.
