modded my microwave oven

i haven't used a toaster in years; quit after i read about the fire hazard; have u quit?
I do not use the toaster unattended. Using a stovetop as a slow-cooker implies an automatic unattended heating device.

Many people unplug the toaster after use, as a safety measure (I do not).

The stove timer has merit as a safety enhancement, if used in addition to conventional practice... similar to the auto shutoff in clothing irons.

Other improvements could include the addition of a motion-sensor that also disconnects power if no activity is detected within a specified period.

If i leave the house, or when i sleep, i shut off anything hi-current:
No AC/Heat
No DW
No HWH
No TV
No cooking
But, if i'm in the house, like now, i'm not watching a pot simmer on the stove. That's why i like auto shut off. Why should i have to baby sit a pot? U guys sit in the kitchen for 3 hours and watch a pot roast cook? Not me. Never.
i'm 15 feet from the kitchen and it has a smoke detector.
.
The report i read on toasters said they fail if plugged in and NOT being used. That's the trap. Somehow they short out or something.
