Most Reliable afforable inner tube for ebike?

What are some good inner tubes for a 26 inch ebike that won't break the bank?

Better to invest in a good tire. But I prefer Kenda tubes for the their quality to price ratio. I don't think there is a generally accepted best ebike tire value out there.

They all break the bank nowdays. Seems like rubber really went up. I have taken to buying all my tubes at a favorite LBS, no more expensive than bell tubes at walmart, and they seem to last better than others. Botranger brand is what they carry.

The bike shop stocks more than 3 sizes too.

26 x what ? I have been using Schwinn branded basic inner tubes from my local Target store. I purchased 2 recently @ $5.99 ea for use with 26x2.0 Panaracer RibMos. I would not use these for a larger volume tire though. Then I pay more at the LBS. They sell Sunlite brand basic tubes that are wider. No problems with them either.

I just bought some avenir DH tubes and cyclops pro 26 x 2.4 tires. Holding up pretty good so far. The tubes are 2.5mm thick!

Same here couple years for rear hub motor. But I don't like the feel of 2.5mm thick DH tubes on front so 'just go standard thickness there. Avenair seems decent brand.

Thick DH tubes are quite heavy and thus my frontend feels heavy. Since front tires don't suffer from the same puncture risk and stresses rear motor wheels do, thick tubes just seem overkill to me.

A tube is not expansive enough to be worth going for cheap, especially on a hub motor wheel. The best DH tubes that I have found are the Nokian Gazzaloddi, next are the Duro and Kenda. Fresh rubber is important of course, as for the tires.

I'm using continental, but mainly for the metal valve stem. I did buy bell first, but was not very happy with the construction.

While it won't stop a pinch flat, tyre gunk seems better expenditure than expensive tubes.

May I express a concern? If I use gunk, does that mean a new tube with every tyre change? Letting the air out the valve seems to be a complication, so i have gunk but have not used it.

5x thick slime tubes. FTW http://www.rei.com/product/810011/slime-self-sealing-smart-superthick-schrader-tube-20-x-175?preferredSku=8100110017&cm_mmc=cse_PLA-_-pla-_-product-_-8100110017&mr:referralID=a1fa9bb3-3297-11e3-a8bc-001b2166c62d

If you let the air out with the valve at the top of the tire pointing down, instead of the ground side pointing up, then no real complications. Sometimes, you may have to unscrew the valvestem valve and clean it to get the air to come out.

I haven't used gunk, but I have reused slime filled tubes with no complications. I have several tubes that have gone through multiple tires. They do seem to clog the valve stem after a couple years, but unclogging a valvestem is a 2 minute job with a valvestem tool and a rag.

I buy Kenda tubes because of the cheap price and good thickness of the rubber. I get the non-threaded stems. Easier on my pump. The chuck will last longer.I check the air every morning on the bike I'll take that day. I also put 2 oz of Stans in there because I live in New Mexico. Goat head city. Just unscrew the valve stem end cap with a pair of pliers and push the needle down so you can grab it with your fingers through the tube to hold it. Squeeze a few OZ in and then push it back out so threads are showing. Sometimes you have to swing the tube a bit. Screw the end back on and your good to go for a few months.
