Motorized Garden Cart

I'm wanting to take something like a flat garden cart:

and use hub wheels on it.

Since stub axles with cotter pins are used on the cart, is there any "off the shelf" hardware that allows me to do this? I don't mind cutting things off/bolting new things on... I just don't want to weld or machine new parts.

I have specific reasons for wanting to use hub wheels due to the controlling mechanism and what my use case is - just trying to figure out my options that would allow for that on this type of platform (in general.)

Any suggestions? (hopefully this forum is OK for this question..)

If are using this cart at a walking pace, you are going to need a deep reduction geared hub motor, like 30:1

That looks good... but how do I connect that to the cart itself, since the cart has stub axles etc?

I don t see an easy conversion with the Harbor Freight wagon - I have one. I would suggest you seek out a used/disabled mobility scooter. They are occasionally found at secondhand outlets, often suffering from only dead batteries. I paid $25 for one not long ago. Just strip the shell off and you have a rolling 24v chassis. I've converted a number of these.

Wagon type chassis (with stub axles) are relatively cheap and easy to get, so trying to figure out how to make use of those since I will be likely needing more than one as I'll probably have more than one prototype, so hoping for finding some hardware like a fork for a bicycle that can be easily bolted to the bottom of the platform and then connect to the hub motor wheel or something else like that.

Oversized caster wheels (10 or 12in), with the pneumatic wheel it came with removed and replaced with a hub motor wheel is what I went with.

I know you mentioned you didn't want to weld anything but I have just built a motorized beach cart (which also converts into a ridable standup scooter/golf cart but that's a different story)
I built mine using a kids mini electric quad bike frame bought from marketplace for £30 as they have everything on it already, axle, wheels sprocket ect I did alot of chopping welding and modifying on mine but you might be able to do something similar with a mini quad like I did without the welding just bolts maybe somehow?
