Hey everyone,
Im looking for suggestions on how to mount em3evs rectangular battery on a rather standard diamond shape frame?
I would like to not use the rear rack, did anyone build a custom mounting system for inside the triangle?
My SO could sew a custom frame bag, not sure how that feels with the pack flopping around inside?

Am I missing something?

thanks
David

Custom bag is probably the way to go honestly.
it might fit in a large triangle bag and you'd have to pad it out to prevent lots of motion but that could work.
Otherwise you probably want to fabricate some kind of battery holder with metal.

Theft prevention is an issue too I just realised.
If its just sitting there in a bag, anyone can snatch my 300€ pack in seconds...

I have a welding machine here and could try to fab something, but thats gonna end up heavy because I cant weld aluminium with it.

I mounted mine in a metal case attached to the lower part of the frame triangle, using the 4 bottle mounts and steel strapping. It is much better handling with the weight low, rather than in a bag hung from the top frame rail.

With some ingenuity ( and resting the battery on the frame as much as possible to reduce the strength needed ), i think you could get down to 2lbs of metal to hold it

The case itself is pretty strong and you may be able to get away with mostly just holding the corners.
