Hi,

I'm reading this forum since a long time and finally i've finished my build and I wanted to share.

I would like to thank you all for all the information and incredible builds.

Here are the specs:
- Loaded Vangaurd Flex1
- Caliber 50
- Abec 11
- 2 x ESC FVT 120A
- 2 x SK3 6354 260kv
- 2 x Zippy 3S 5000mah in serial
- mount from DIY Skate
- box from Aliendrive
- flat 12awg cable from mouser

I'm still waiting on 2 VESC to replace the FVT.

One of the specific thing of my setup is the flat cable to connect the battery that is on the front to the ESC that is on the back.
But I've ordered too much so if anybody is interested I can send a few meter for free.

Here are the pics (sorry for the quality I've only my iphone)

Hi Damien
I d surely be interested in the flat cable.
I was looking for some myself before.
are you in Europe ? I am in Paris.
cheers

seems the 12AWG flat cable from mouser is rated for 20A.

nice job, I think for design/visual purpose I would have kept for sure the 12AWG 3.3mm two wires... avoiding this big black banner which just fails the (beautiful) look of the deck.

Gorgeous build. Well done!

Love that it's a flex 1 for those of us who are heavier or like less flex than the boosted option!

Also curious on range.

I think the flat wires really pull it together and make it look professional.

I'd love some of the wire as well, but likely shipping to the states would make it too expensive.

Hey, thanks everyody for your kind word.

Please PM me with your address and the number of feet/meter you want and I'll look what I can do.

@mccloed and sl33py, the range is approx 8-10km but I've haven't done a very precise mesure.
@okp, yeah somehow I agree, If I had the skills I would have routed the connexion through the boad and installed the flat cable on the top between the grip and the board (like boosted)

Based on the comment of okp I've changed the flat cable, I've folded it and I'll try with transparent adhesive.

What do you think ? Better ?

For the people interested by the flat cable here is a picture.
By the way I've got 100 feet (I didn't read correctly the datasheet on mouser :))

As you can see there is 5 "cable" in a plastic housing.

@whitepony, i've a GT2B with a badwolf v2 3d printed enclosure.
By the way if anybody is 3d printing try to get a thicker print that what' I've done (it was 100 - 150µm by sculpteo... It is way too thin.

@okp, I've PMed you regarding the enclosure you have made for your own Vanguard project. I think they are great and I would be glad to buy one if you are willing to build a few more. Name your price :)

I think it looks great either way Damien. One thing if you are worried about Amperage is to double your wires (which you might already have done). Looking at the boosted board i see 4 wires on top under the grip...

so wondering if they are splitting each + and - into two wires to carry the amps? I'd probably try to do the same myself.

What is the Mouser link for the wire? want to compare it with some flat braided i found on Amazon.

Nice work Damien. I also got my 3d print of the v2 (from shapeways instaed) and it's a little thinner than i'd like. Wish i had the skill to beef it up and make it a bit more sturdy...
