Just purchased my first e-product and I couldn't be more excited to find this forum! A company called Motovox has been making go-karts, minibikes and scooters for the past year with gas engine, but just recently made a scaled down electric version of their mini bike for $199 at SEARS. It's perfect for zipping around the office since there are no emission. I plan to build it up with tall bars, 500w motor/controller and two 10ah 12v batteries. What are your thoughts? Are there any decent LiPo options for this?

Specs:

24v 250w motor
24v 250w controller
7ah 12v batteries (2)
high/low speed switch
40min run time

The last pic doesn't look like 250w motor to me. Looks beefier. A good thing.

They let you use that around the office? Cool!

How much does it weigh? With and without the battery?

Everyone wants one in the office. We have a big unfinished area where there is a little figure 8 track to race on after work.

38.5lbs out of the box
29.5lbs without batteries

I think you will have more fun with something a bit bigger
they designed that one for kids,

it would be more fun on this bigger one with front suspension, (converted of course)

or pick up an old Razor MX650 36w 650w moter

i have this at work,
my coworkers dig it,
but I dislike the wheels (too small) and no suspension. (very harsh on 10" wheels)

These little bikes are rated for 75 lb's , just a guess but you look like you weigh more than that. It looks heavy made enough to hold you and I think that is all it is rated to pull. Is it not cracking or bending is it???? Hope you are still on here I would like to know how it is working!
Thanks Will

I know this an old post but it looks like to me IStone is about to pop the rear tire on this little thing and I bet it will not hold up.
I sure would like to hear back from him, how did it work out?????
