my new full carbon 28lb 27 speed ebike racer

Nice clean build, noticed you kept the wires out of sight, so did i, makes a big difference.

That battery pack looks like it would fit on my bike also, but i need 48 volts.

Ok, this thread officially died so now I can hijack it

Beautiful bike btw.
One of the sexiest builds I have ever seen.
No wonder you have a 22 year old GF.
I might take you on a date if you let me ride that bike.

I agree that a roadbike is a great way to increase apparent power.
Till now the lack of suspension put me off. My first X5 bike had no suspension and it messed up my back.
A couple weeks ago I picked up a "softride" road bike and I have been looking for a very lightweight but powerful system.

I think I am going to try one like the above.
More specifically, one from this bum on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/900w-Off-Roads-Electric-Motor-e-Bike-Bicycle-Kit-ebike_W0QQitemZ310122276904QQihZ021QQcategoryZ2904QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

That is unless someone else has something better they can show me ???
It has been half a year after all.

I went to the rock spiders website but there was not much going on. I did see a 500W setup for $1000 funny money AUD (what, is that like $500 or $600 real money? lol).
Odd that the ebay guy sells from AU too. Could not be the same guy though as the ebay guy seems to have a weak hold on English.

Ok, carry on.
Free thread bump in the form of a thread jacking.

Hi,
Ok, this thread officially died so now I can hijack it

officially?

I'm pretty sure thats a Cyclone Kit (I think these prices are better than the Ebay link you posted):
http://www.cyclone-tw.com/order.htm
Also sold here :
http://www.cyclone-usa.com/index.php

I'm not sure why anyone would buy their kit as opposed to their motor and (on some motors) their reduction unit. The mounts are junk and the freewheels in their crank are biodegradable. Some of them are noisy (the 1000w model on Gary's has no built-in reduction and a 6t drive sprocket). This configuration looks prone to noise as well (built-in reduction but tiny sprockets - convoluted chain-line):

That location also looks vulnerable to damage.

You might want to consider Matt's Drive Unit, combined with a decent RC motor:
http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=7180

$220 or $400 single stage or dual stage drive with Gary-Miles Clamps which will work on a down-tube or DIY Mounts
$70 Drive FW
$200 freewheeling crank setup
$200 to $400 quality RC Motor ($400 for really nice astroflight - about 3kw sustained)

Pros:
Roughly the same price as the Ebay link with very high quality components vs junk and much more powerful.

Cons:
More work. Waiting for drive (they are starting to ship now).

to the OP if he even has checked this thread since October: nice bike. to take the piss out of you just a little bit, i'd say Bike Snob NYC would classify it as the ultimate dentist's bike for sure :x 8)

i did have a similar conversion idea originally but i sure am glad i went a different route...
