Hi, so i want. Toi do a new ebike with à geared motor. And I want to. Run in 72v 25amp so i think to the 9 fet lyen. Controller

but witch. Motor is able to this power ??

And i want to the motor go at 70-80 kmh (without weight )

Thanks

You could check the simulator at www.ebikes.ca.

They carry the Ezee geared hub motors, but I think they are only suitable for up to 48v.

Why are you wanting a geared motor and high speed? (Just curious.)

It seems like most people are happiest running gearmotors at 48v. If you overvolt motors too much you make a LOT of heat, which gearmotors radiate away a bit slower than dd motors. So 48v and about 30 amps seems to be a poplular and reliable setup.

There are different windings, so 30 mph is totally possible at 48v with the speed versions of the Mac, for example. Cellman in the for sale section has em.

In any case, 80 kph is pretty unrealistic for gearmotors, and often melts the crap out of decent dd motors. Not to mention that 72v and 25 amps isn't even close to enough wattage for 80 kph. Lots of us wish it was just that simple, a gearmotor and 72v.

For what you want, you need to be looking at scooter motors rated at 3000-5000 watts, not motors of any type rated for 600-1000 watts.

50-60 kph is doable with the larger direct drive motors and 120v 40 amps. And they will go at least 8 miles without melting. So much depends on your intended use. What might work fine, like 5000 watts for a drag race, will not work for a long ride.

Read a lot of the build logs in the pics section. See what guys like Methods have done, what it took, and how long it lasted before the smoke came out the motor. You won't see much in the way of gearmotors going 70 kph there though.

I believe that you got mixed with MPH here Dogman. 50 Km/h is only 31 Mph, and can be achieved with some kits. I think the OP is asking for 60 Km/h (37 Mph) no load, that is an easy target IMO.

okay from what i know, 70-80km/h without weight is easily done without melting wire...BUT to achieve this you need alot of knowledge about ebike since you will be plaing with high voltage and amps. first of all, you will be spending alot of $$$ is its your first ebike...
you need: controller (72v), battery(~66v), steel bike, torque arms (both side)...ect
how fast do you want to travel with your weight? and how much do u want to spend on it$$$ :?:

Yeah, I was thinking of 47 mph, Which took a 120v 40 amp controller for me to reach. Which melted the motor after 10 miles on the track. Nevertheless isn't the 80 kph he wants 50 mph? I've not heard of people in the 50 mph club running 72v on normaly avaliable bicycle hubmotors. Scooter motors are wound faster, so they might get that fast if laced to a bike or moped rim. I for sure don't recall any gearmotor running folks being in the 50 mph club.

I don't think I was wrong about the basic thing I was trying to say. 72v 25 amps aint going 50 mph unless the motor is something special.

40 mph though, is relatively easy to do with 72v.

he just want to do 70-80KM/H without the weight on the bike another word...if you can do 40mph on bike then you can get +50mph by lifting the wheel up

so, I have 20s lipo in my box, and I want to test the geared motor so I just need a controller and a motor.
and I told 50mph weight less, because I want to go auround 35-40 mph on flat so on flat I need around 20a 74v to go at 37mph with my 9c.

and I saw the bmc puma v2 trq it look like good..

I know the recuction is not ok to run with more than 1000w, so if it's not possible I will test crystalyte..
