Nanjing far driver controllers

I am having trouble setting up off throttle regen braking. Any ideas? ND72530 with qs138 v3 and domino throttle.

Can you tell us what you've tried so far?
There are a couple settings in the app for regen. There's a setting under "functions" called "follow". Set that to
3-EABSWhenRelease
to activate regen when you let off the throttle. You also have to decide what step back and max back current settings work best for you.
That did it. Thank you very much. This controller isn’t as impressive power wise as I thought it would be. Upgrading from a Kelly kls7245nr.

**edit
Made a few adjustments and found what I needed to change for more power and the controller is doing great.

What were the changes you made?

What were the changes you made?

The dc amps and phase amps were at the highest setting and the controller was still sluggish. So I changed the “ratios in speed” to 100% up to about 6000rpm then about 80% to 7500rpm. Also changed the pid parameters to a more aggressive value based on the manual. After that the controller actually felt more powerful than my old Kelly controller.

What do these parameters do exactly? And what constitutes "more aggressive"?
Thanks!

Your guess is as good as mine haha. From the manual:

3.4 PID parameters: Start KI, Mid KI, Max KI/Start KP, Mid KP, Max KP. The default parameters Start KI=4, Mid KI=8, Max KI=12/Start KP=40, Mid KP=80, Max KP=120. www.far-driver.comThe greater the motor power and the higher the voltage, the smaller the PID. PID parameters cannot be filled in casually, otherwise it will cause abnormal operation or even burn control. The following are the commonly used PID setting parameter values. There are 9 sets in total. Choose one set of parameters to match the motor vehicle and modify it under the guidance of professionals.

Note: That improper PID parameter settings will cause the system to work abnormally, or even MOE\OVER\PHASE failures, etc., too large a difference will cause burning control, pay special attention

Hello, where is the best now to buy the ND72530 driver? I need it for my project super soco tc max "Zero Killer" :)

You're a braver soul than I XD

I had the pid parameters almost maxed out but backed them off after going to a different gear ratio. Just wanted to see what the controller can take.

Can anyone identify this controller? I can't find it anywhere but I'm guessing a ND72850? The app shows DM72V400A_47_6_A28.

Hi, I am new to the forum, spent some time reading this thread thru. I recently converted my '64 Vespa to electric with QS205 4kW motor and Fardriver ND96360.
Today the project was ready to turn power on for the 1st time and do controller auto-learn + parameters. Thanks to this thread, everything was smooth: bluetooth login, auto-learn, major parameter settings. Vespa came to life ! so far on stand without load, did not have chance yet to take it out for ride (it is cold and raining).
However I have questions about voltage settings: in the main parameters (1st page) there is RatedVoltage. I set it to 84V as I have 24 S lithium battery. This setting also changes the controller type on the header to ND84360 (my controller is ND96360). Is this normal ?
In protect-parameters I am able to set LowVoltageProtect to 73,5V, but there is no access to OverVoltageProtect ! Tapping the parameter is not opening up to change it. It is in default 121,5V. I am afraid this is too high, as my battery is 100,8V full charged. I think it is risky to activate REGEN, if it will push over voltage when battery full. Any advice ?

Well, controller is OK other than the OverVoltage protect is fixed. It should be adjustable as rated voltage and LowVoltage are ?
Here is pic of far-driver specs: ND96360 should be OK for operating voltages 72/84/96V. And highest voltage up to 115V. How does this match with OverVoltage parameter set to 121,5V ?

I’m not 100% sure but I think the OverVoltage parameter is only there for the rare case that it errors out for an over voltage scenario. I don’t think it will achieve that voltage amount on regen. My nd72530 OverVoltage parameter is set to something like 90 volts for a battery that charges to 84 volts.

I emailed the question to Far-Driver (lvchao@far-driver.com). Their quick response was:

"What you said is normal, and regen can be turned on, it doesn't matter". (Overvoltage parameter 121,5V)

I guess the rated voltage setting is taking care of the REGEN over voltage protection as well ? Still, I am not convinced that over voltage would be controlled (no parameter as evidence) and preventing destroying my battery with REGEN on full battery...

Hi guys
Would anyone know the properly functioning and latest MotorEnglish version for Windows for the newer Fardriver controllers? Thanks

I second this question. I have not yet gotten the windows software to work even with the actual fardriver cable they sell.

@ebike1: just got version 155 with new controller. Work on win 10 for me

Hi!
Could you post a link?
Is version 155 for the app or for windows?
We are looking for the PC version thanks

@ebike11. Got it in email from seller. Will try to upload if forum permit. It's PC .exe, not apk

Hi Redsea,

I assume www.far-driver.com was the official site. Certainly makes out it is.
Contact I used was lvchao@far-driver.com. This is the only email address I found on this site.

Was certainly surprised by packaging. My only thought was they tried to put both controllers in the absolute smallest packaging possible to save on shipping.

Initial hit was a bit like a light switch, also thought 360/190A could be a bit much for the QS120 so tried to save both at the same time to 300/150A.
Controller is still responsive to saving changes, but nothing I have tried stops the constant beeping and make it usable.

Will PM you.

"got my 96850 from same site, a guy called robert,no black box with foam ,just cardboard box with kelly taped over, have only used it for self test and it seems ok, will have to give it a run to see more, hope for the best !"
