Hi guys

I recently purchase a second Vintage Electric bike called 'Tracker' in Australia but was made in the US. Its a 48v battery, 3000watt rear hub Crystalyte motor with a ASI bacdoor800 controller. My issue is I don't think the ASI bacdoor800 was tuned correctly with the battery and/or motor

ASI backdoor800 has a bluetooth and can diagnose the issues on your phone, which was i mistake in my part because as soon as i did this my bike stop working. the lights - battery indicator front and rear lights still turns on, but the motor stop. Unfortunately its very difficult to find someone in aus to tune or even want to look at it, because of US parts. If anyone has any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Rem

What leads you to that conclusion?

(knowing the lead up to a problem can often help solve it)

What, exactly and specifically, did you change?

Did it stop working immediately after the first change, or did it take several changes? If the latter, what was the last change made?

Hi

I think really dont know what happened, but there has always been an issue/problem with the voltage. The first time it happened the rear light would be on even though i turned the switch off. And sometimes rear light would be off and the motor would not turn on.

I would probably just purchase another controller

That is a very expensive e-bike with a very reputable company behind it. Before you start tearing things apart, call them! They have a help line. What you are describing does not sound like a controller issue at all.

Is the rear light part of the battery? If so, my guess is there is an internal problem with the battery itself.

Either way, there's nothing about the controller that would have anything to do with the lights or what voltage the battery is at, so I don't see how changing anything about it would fix your original problem.

Unfortunately if you didn't backup the settings or write them down before changing them, your best bet is to contact the manufacturer to get those settings to put them back.

Otherwise you may have to experiment further with *just* the specific settings you already changed, to try to get them back where they were. Or at least post what those settings are at, and any values you ahve tried for them along with each result in detail.

If you don't know what settings you changed...it's going to be tough to figure out the problem. Your best bet at that point is to write down all the settings and put them in a post here, along with a list of the specific hardware that is on the bike with as much detail as possible, so we can try to figure out what settings in the controller don't match, and what they are supposed to be set to.

So far you still haven't answered the questions asked before:
"What, exactly and specifically, did you change?

Did it stop working immediately after the first change, or did it take several changes? If the latter, what was the last change made?"

Without that we can't even guess what problem you caused with the changes or how you might fix them to at least get you back to the point you started at.

So you purchased a non working ebike and are trying to get it working? was it at a good discount?

If you're going to replace the controller, how much do you want for the old one?
