I got a set of handlebar warmers for my motorcycle. It comes with a on/off/on switch, what gives me high and low temperature for the bar warmers.

This is how they recommend to hook up the switch.

I'm trying to hook a set of LED's so I can tell if the switch is on High or Low.

Right now, the only way I can figure it out is to have an LED lit to show that the switch is turned on (to either high or low

I'd like to either...
A) have one LED turn on for LOW and two LED's turn on for high...
OR
B) one LED turn on for Low, and another LED turn on for High (only one LED is lit at a time)

Any idea how to wire the LED's? Right now I just have a wire going to the center plug. When there is power going to the bar warmers, it lights up, not matter High or Low.

Thanks!

Wire the LED and dropping resistor in parallel with each load.

I forgot to show the wire to the handlebar warmers and where I have the LED now

amberwolf, can you draw me a diagram to show me? I don't understand?

Will this achieve A or B in my first post?

Thanks!

Your on the right track. Take the connection you show as LED through an LED then through a resistor to give the LED the proper current.

It will give you a brighter led for high and the same led dimmer for low.
