Kepler
10 MW
Not a rant at all. Quite interesting.

I use a Turnigy watt meter - fyi my BBS02 48v500w peaks a shade over 1100watts.
Kepler said:So the 500W version pumps out the same power as 750W. Interesting. Can you do me a favor and measure the width across the motor/ controller housing? Just want to compare it the 750W version. I am pretty sure they will be the same but just want to be 100%. Looks like there is no real point buying the 750W version. May as well save $30 and get the 500W version.
deffx said:I was thinking along the same lines today as the 750w is out of stock, but then I saw in the programming thread "amigafan2003" could not program his 500w version above 18A without getting error code 11, where as the 750w is 25A
Does this really matter? I don't know, just put me off the idea a little

Kepler said:The 750W version is actually set at 20A in the software. amigafan2003 is getting 1100W peaks from his 500W drive. I am getting 1050W peaks with my 750W version. It does sound like they have different firmware version though.
I wonder if the 750W version can actually be set higher then 20A. Not that i would really want to risk running above 20A anyway.
I know what you mean about being put off slightly though. If both are available, I think I would still chose the 750W version for the sake of $30 bucks.

Savvas.
ps; 'Bicycle Science' has a good chapter on seat tube angles and 'FF' outcomes.
dogman said:If 25 amps, the 750w should be able to put out 1350w, using a 58 top of charge v lithium battery. I mean 14s lico/limn or 16s lifepo4.
But it should be taking a pretty steep uphill start to see it, or a high gear start.
Both kinds are the same motor? Just controllers different? I know it must have been said, but 90 pages,,,,
Try sorting through with the mind of a nOOb!dogman said:but 90 pages,,,,
What do you use to measure the watts?teslanv said:Wattage is correct. I see ~1200W max on 12S LiPo.

Any suggestions on resources for learning appreciated.

Here's what I have. ~600 miles and no worse for wear.

Thanks, 12 links short. Best direction from here?teslanv said:Here's what I have. ~600 miles and no worse for wear.
That's the plan Sam!Samd said:I'd recommend fitting a new chain to any BBS install.

Thanks, they're a PIA, no chain sizes. Is there a common link count for a ten speed chain? I'm running an IGH. 126 link if I'm getting it right.Melbourne said:http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/au/en/kmc-x8-93-8-speed-chain/rp-prod25424
