New Charger Pulsing?

I have received my replacement 52v charger from a seller on ebay as the one sent with the battery was bad.

Before connecting the charger to the battery I checked the reading of the charger with a volt meter while plugged in via mains (not connected to the battery). Now the reading is pulsing continually, is this normal? I don’t know what the reading of the charger is…?

Revive your dead battery!

These superb chargers use the ‘Pulse’ method of charging which means that despite its current rating, the charger first checks the voltage of the battery by charging with a very low current. If the battery voltage is too low it will continue to charge with a low current until such time that the battery voltage reaches a nominal level when full charging current can be used to charge the battery.

This means that this charger can even charge ‘dead’ batteries whose voltage has dipped below cut-off voltage! This alone sets this charger apart from the competition – we have run numerous tests on batteries with very low voltage where an equivalent charger would not charge the battery, yet our charger instantly starts charging.

Saw your post late calab. So yea when connected to the volt meter the reading keeps changing (I think that’s what they mean by pulsing) so I can’t see what the volt output reading of the charger is set too. I can hear soft clicking when the charger is on.

Not sure what to really make of it. I don’t feel comfortable using this charger, so I think I will give this a test when my battery stops charging due to a low cell and well see if this charger charges the battery and how true there claims are.
