I just spotted a new LED bike light on dealextreme with the P7 diode: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25149

It comes with a 4x 18650 Li-ion battery pack.

If someone buys this, please post a review!

I recommend spending some extra cash and get the

Fenix TK11 R2 edition,

that, or get a pair of the TK11 regular editions.

way better quality in my opinion.

I bought about 6 different flashlights from DX, and I don't use any of them anymore.

I dropped one DX flashlight and it no longer works. I dropped one of my Fenix's 4 times, and it still works perfectly.

I recommend Fenix, Surefire, or Wolf Eyes, you pay more for quality and durability.

But YMMV, and to each his own.

DX lights have a so-so reputation on Candlepowerforums.com

Yup I saw that light, it looks nice. BUT, the Golden Rule with DealExtreme is don't buy anything over 10 dollars. Really. I recently broke this rule (which I had been told again and again and again never to break). I bought a pair of sunglasses with Mp3 and a vid camera in them, I wanted to record my children as we rode together. They cost 95 dollars. The arrived about a month later (maybe more actually). The video didn't work properly (sporadic) and the actual memory card inside was so slow to write to that one time it took me 3 hours to transfer about 14mb. Then you have all the hassle of trying to send it back and will you ever get a replacement or will the replaced one be junk like the first one. Time is money and you just waste hours trying to sort it out. I could have bought many brand new pairs of glasses if I had just gone and worked those extra hours I spent trying to sort it out. It's just not worth it.

So, remember the Golden Rule, with DealExtreme - less than 10 dollars only!!

I really like DealExtreme though, but you have to be aware that you might be buying junk (good chance of it actually because the stuff is sooooo cheap).

I've been reading over at mtbr.com that Magicshine, the manufacturer of the light has been steadily improving the light and also improving the quality of the units. They are now making sure that there are no aluminum shavings inside the light (duh!), added thermal grease to the LED and to the threads, and also mounted the LED better for better strength and heat dissipation. I've just ordered one since the days are getting shorter now. I'll report back when it arrives.

The light can be found here:

There is a USA distributor who sells them direct for a bit more ($10) but offers faster warranty service.

I'm looking for something equally powerful for a rear tail light. Does anyone have any suggestions for a REALLY Big and bright light for the back?

Thanks,
Ambrose

Hallo !

Excuse my bad english from swiss !

I have bought last year a set of front and back light, a little expensive, but all my friends that have tested them, bought some too ! It is really awesome !
With the backlight, no more dangerous vehicule near yu, they all let 2 or more metters between yu and the car. The rear light is like a red sun, yu can see it at one kilometer !, and when yu see it, yu doesn't know it is just a cycle, yu tought it is a big big car or truck, and so in the night, it is so safe for yu.
With this light, i feel safer night as day !

With front light, (a 600 lumens), yu can ride downhill more 60-70 kiometers/hour without problem, it is like day !

oups, the links i put in the precedent post are not working :

Go tu endurance serie light, and then for tails light, the 200 series or the 400 series. The small 200 is awsome !
