Hello Guys,

I found a new wheel with hub motor and battery built in the wheel. An interesting idea, though not sure how it would perform.
If anybody has an info about it, please share.
Here's the link

Man its almost like they took a already made product and started a kick starter...Oh wait.

How are people not getting sued for this shit.

Well it seems they first launched on Banggood and then the Kickstarter. If you see the Banggood link, it calls it UrbanX in one of the images.

Not a fan of more weight in the hub. You are putting the battery and controller where it is inaccessible, more exposed to vibration and contamination and where it contributes to unsprung weight. I had an EMS E+ for years and liked it a lot, but even integrating the controller into the hub was problematic; the wheel was incredibly heavy.

Their site says "Wheel Weight(with Battery) about 8.29kg"... about 18.28 pounds... including weight of wheel and tire itself.
Sorry if "too heavy" for some. Can't figure out whether "automatic detection of deceleration" means regeneration?

Found it. Seen here:

Dear customer:

I know what it means. But still, thanks for your help. We have to explain it to you that this part below will generate power, which will can make you ride more easily and save both your and the battery's energy. But it is not very efficient to charge the battery.

Wonder watt "not very efficient" means?

Neat.
But the 36v 130w battery seems a bit on the small side. That's good for a reliable 5.5km range. their max range of 50km seems... optimistic. ...
Very long downhill grade.

Found another vid (in Mandarin or Cantonese... "Chinese"...)
