Hi I am new to this forum and need advice please, My 86 year old friend ( I am 74 ) is selling his EPLUS CITY FOLDER bike and I am considering buying it, I have it on loan, fully charged the battery which is giving a 29v output but when I take it on the road the electric motor does not kick in!
The battery is switched on and shows full charge, the control on the handle bar lights up and the + and _ seams to work but that is all, am I doing something wrong ?

According to the manual, it's a 24v battery, so 29v should be fully charged. Manual suggests checking all the wiring connections. Any plugs can be unplugged and reconnected to make sure the connections are good. If the brake lever switches are activated, the motor won't run. I would check that first and see if there is a plug for the brake switches that can be unplugged and test with it unplugged.

Below is the manual:

YEs, agree with the a brake check to make suere any cables are not slack and a lever is hanging loose. There is a switch in each leaver, and if the lever is slack, then it shuts off the motor,

See page 8 of the above manual and activate walk mode. That will spin the motor at a walking pace, and is a good way to see if the motor has wiring continuity and if it works.

If walk mode doesn't work, there is a motor or controller issue. If it does work, than make sure you have put the bike in one of its three power levels. If that looks OK, could be you knocked the pedal sensor off its axis. They are usually a round disk around the pedal axle that carries magnets,
