Noise Levels: TSDZ2 w/Nylon Gear vs CYC Photon?

I am thinking about migrating from my rain-drenched-inop TSDZ2 with blue nylon gear to a CYC Photon.

I find the TSDZ2 to be acceptably quiet, but have no clue about the Photon.

Has anybody ridden both?

If so, how do they compare noise-wise?

I had a TSDZ2 a few years ago and I agree, it was quiet. Not as quiet as the BBS02. Now just yesterday I installed a Cyc Photon Gen 2 and it is the noisiest of these three. To me anyway. Any pedaling where power from the motor is applied it whines. Very audible, not a background noise. I'm not sure if I will keep it if this is the noise level.

I’ve heard the CYC stealth on the trail, and there’s no way I could handle that grating noise. There are some YouTube videos comparing the stealth and photon, no load, and the photon is much quieter and less obnoxious.
However watching videos of the photon under load, it’s more than I could personally live with, but I prefer silence on the trail in order to get close up to the wildlife.
I’m using a Tsdz8, and although I’m not recommending it, the sound when riding throttle only up a steep hill isn’t much different from riding on flat ground, and not very audible in either case.
