About 6 month ago when the trunirgy watt meters first turned up at hobby king I set up an account with hobby king and placed a order for one. They were in stock at the time so I expected it to all go smooth.I cant remember exactly what happened but as I tracked the order status for over week perhaps even two weeks it just sat on "processing" status it might have been the next step after processing i cant remember.

It was a bit strange like something had gone wrong. So I gave HK a call and asked why my order wasn't moving and they said they would look into it and send me a tracking number. The next day it was magically showing up as shipped and I was given a tracking number. The Funny thing is the shipped date they gave me was like the day after I made the order. At the time i just thought strange but perhaps I put it down to perhaps there webpage dosn't update fast but still strange.

Anyhow weeks and weeks went on and I never got it. To date was the first time ever I had a no show on a mail package. My wife and I order 100's of posted items online a year and had never had issues. It wasn't the best first experience with Hobby king.

So over the weeks I got onto them again and they started an investigation with HK post and my local post office so the ball was rolling on sorting it out . I was happy at least that they took some action on sorting it out and considering it was only $30 at risk I have been very easy going and just trusting they will sort it out.

Over the weeks they have been sending me catalogues and there has been some real tempting deals In them and on there web page. I held off on ordering anything more until the first stuff up got sorted but just the other day I gave in to temptation and had a 2nd go at ordering some things from them.

All the items on this 2nd order where in stock and I paid instantly the order was cleared instantly for payment but is 4 days Old now and its still on "processing" status. I hope I am not in for another repeat of my last experience. What is the normal delivery times like for hobby king particularity to Australia.

Kurt.

They are usually pretty good for me. When I have ordered Lipo from HK in the past (this was before the Aus warehouse was going) with the EMS option I usually got my package to Canberra in about 7-10 days. But I recently ordered some stuff, and about 8 days ago I got an email saying my stuff had been shipped and gave me a tracking number, but when I went and checked the tracking number, it said that it had only been lodged for posting about two days ago, and only left Hong Kong yesterday. So I don't know if there was something to do with holidays over there etc.., but it was strange that there was a 7 day delay between them stating it as "shipped" and it actually being shipped.

Other than this experience though they have always been speedy for me, as I said, EMS usually gets to me in Australia in 7-10 days.

Hobby king gets really slow and backlogged during and after chinese new year

Thanks guys,
I will just keep in eye on this one its not a big order this time ether. I just want at least one possessive experience with them before I will trust them enough to go and order $1000 of lipo.

Last year after chinese new year they were a couple of weeks behind in order processing. They shut down but the world keeps ordering  .

I have had perhaps 10 orders with no problems.

Hmm, the smaller the box, the easier to lose? Went god knows where stuffed into a crack on some other guys box?

I've bought at HK 12 times now, and always buy stuff in stock. No problems so far, but a recent order took weeks longer than expected. Apparently the zip code for Zurich resembles mine. So it spent some time in the WTF? bin in Switzerland instead of winging to the USA.

I've placed 4 orders over the last month and all have been fine except for the latest one which I'm still waiting on (was made after chinese new year). They all took a couple of full weeks to arrive to sydney. Batteries were on reasonably good condition and packaging. No dents at all.

The tracking is awful for hong kong post though. Really don't understand that in this era.

I have 18 orders with hobbyking, but that includes 4 orders from the EU warehouse. I always order stuff that's in stock. Delivery times have been from a couple of days (German warehouse to Sweden) to a couple of weeks. But it always arrives in good condition so I'm a happy customer.

I just recently order a Turnigy watt meter and it took about 6 weeks to get to the US. It did not work, but it took so long to get there that I tried to trouble shoot it and blew it up. :(

Exactly the same good experience here (22 orders so far). Platinum membership is kind of joke, because you get the same prices with a "one time only" offer anyways, but won't hurt either.

Ordered 64 lipo packs altogether till now, had to return (or rewire) 5 due to one or more dead cells.
It seems some of the pack types have higher failure rate than others, so it's quite helpful to watch the user reviews. I've been extremely happy with my latest order of 16x 4S5Ah 20C Turnigy hardcases. All cells within 3.85-3.88V, can't beat the price too! To the credit of HK, all the returned cells were refunded with store credit. But be sure to check the voltage & make your claim at the day of arrival.
