I really got a deal at $100, it had a bike rack on it too that I removed to make room for the future K-Drive  and the Aero Bars are going to make a GREAT low profile "dash board"

It's kinda funny, it has almost the same components (derailleurs) as the Biachi, and I am sure it's about the same vintage, but the brakes and wheels are definitely better, has a cassette instead of a freewheel, which I am tempted to replace with my Campy wheel, but for now I just wana ride it as is.

I'm really excited with the proposition that I might be able to keep the bike as is and just add the K-Drive! :D

Since I will be staying very light, I don't believe I will need to up-grade the spokes, but if I do, I can always build the Campy wheel with heavier spokes.

It's Cro-Mo steel, and even lighter than my Biachi, even with the added bars! :D

**** EDIT **** I just realized that reduced to Acronym form my build would be known as EWW!! Oh well,

Nice bike, is it alloy or steel?

Hey dogman!

I thought so. There is steel and there is steel. My motobecane road bike is very light for steel, as is Yokota quicksliver I plan to race. While the wallbike feels like they are made of gas pipe.

You got that right! When I had to open the rear triangle of the Steintrike last week I had to go a full 25mm to get 8mm to stay open. Damn metal is like a spring. I think that is good.

Thanks! You might have seen the post before I edited it and added that information, I never get the post right the first time, I usually have to edit 3 - 4 times!

I'm really thinking that since the K-Drive is so light, and has to be pedal first (I'm hoping soft start is an option too) that it won't put too much stress on anything.

Do you have any pics of your Death Race project bike DM? I'd love to see what you've done so far. 8)

Over here. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=18644&start=30 Finally made some progress after some issues with sensorless motor, and 72v ripping the motor right off the drops. Determined to at least try to race front hub. Just got it running and finally joined the 40 mph club. That might be the limit of my balls, quite a thrill to go 40 on something that light.

Very kewl DM! You're not leaving any of us young guys any excuses!

I hope to have as much courage, and enough wallet.

Got my batteries last week been soooo busy! Just now getting around to posting it! :p

They came in exactly when I was expecting them (about a week's time), wrapped up like a newborn!

Now I just need the best power supply & balance charger for six 4s Lipo packs around. Any suggestions? I'm sure there is a combo from Hobby King that would work, but I'd really like one that will do all 6 in less than one hour charge with out stressing the batteries too much.

Thanks! 8)

Well, I got the power supply, but it seems that 4 packs is the max that multi-battery pack chargers do, so I guess if I don't mind charging them in stages, i.e. charging 4 then 2, but what about if I wanted to charge 2 batteries in series, so it would be like charging three 8S batteries instead of six 4S packs?

I mean, can I do this and use balance plugs and just get a charger that would charge four 8S batteries at once, does this sound feasible? :?:

I think that would work, you will have a hard time finding that charger though I think, and if you do it will be spendy!

Yeah, I don't expect it to be cheap, but my charger budget is about $400, so I don't mind paying for quality, but my main concern is safety and convenience.

This will be a charger that I want to have for future projects to come, and I just want to make sure I get a good one going into the LiPo game. :)

Even the better HK chargers have people talking about orange fire-balls coming unexpectedly, and I really don't need that experience.

"Orange fireballs", LOL sounds like something from a video game!
