Hi to everyone, i'm not going to take time introducing myself right now, do that later, just need to ask a stupid question -what would happen to a brushless outrunner motor if it got wet?everyone is posting friction drive projects which only problem is slippage in wet whether, but i never met questions about the motor?
Thanks im advance for every answer, amazing forum btw!!!

As an RC flyer who's performed many unplanned seawater landings (ditched) I can assure BLDC RC motors are probably one of the more water resistant components used in the hobby. The electrical construction is coated and sealed pretty well. Bearings are a concern if completely submerged for period of time but they're fairly splash proof.

Thank you Ykick for the quick reply. So you're basically saying that if i got out my RC friction drive in the rain,as long as the fases don't short out at the connection to the ESC, the motor is going to run ok? I will be pretty happy about that, because it 'll mean that i don't have to completely waterseal my other RC mid-drive against the elements. Cause i was trying different variations in my head how to cool the motor and not get it wet at the same time ;)

Agreed with the previous comments. I drove from Illinois to Ohio with my outrunner motor friction drive build mounted to my bike on the back of my car and it rained almost the whole time...(This was an intentional test). When I got home I could literally pour water out of my motor. It didnt work immediately upon pouring out the water but after I let it sit out to dry for a couple days it started working again good as new!
