Can anyone tell me if the Keyde Rear motor offers PEDAL ASSIST over 25kph or does it cut out completely above this speed?

If so, is there anyway of modifying it so it can assist above 25kph?

Thanks

Those motors used to be quite fragile when they were made by Tongxin. I'd be real careful to keep the volts/amps within specs.

depends on which Version you order (rpm)...
mine does NOT cut out
until which Speed it offers assist depends on the rpm-version you order

so no "Software"-cutout

here a Video of mine:

Motor - i say it explicit because ist so tiny it may be overlooked *lol* - is mounted in the rearwheel of the trike my girlfriend is driving

i follow with the camera and a motorless recumbend-bike

you see the Speeds on the Sigma and which of the 5 modes was used in the upper left corner of the video

i like the Motor very much

it is light, stealthy, beautiful and very easy to install (with the integated Controller)

it ads only about 1,5kg to my bike ... 2/3 of time i drive with Motor off, ist so easy.. you don´t feel, that it is there
perfekt

We tried one but it broke twice in a short time. I heard of a German OEM that tried them, who reported a very high failure rate How much current is yours running with? Do you know of any changes that Keyde have done to improve the reliability?

mine runs with up to 10 (11) Amps

thats too much.. i want to reduce it to 7A

for this reason i have already tried to modify the shunt:

hope this link works for you ?

the Motor is sold as 9s Motor, i use it with 10s

oh.. an the spring for the freewheel: it can slip of the pin, resulting the Motor not Spinning anymore
to prevent this, i have made a Little slot into the pin, so this can not happen

i realy hope, the Motor will last some time, because ist for me the best driving-experience because ist so light
i drive lot of my km with motor-off, so Motor only running maybe 25-50% of the time..
so ist very important for me, that the Motor is as inconspicuous as possible, in concerns of weight, size, freewheel, ...

Keyde released new motor 2015. Available in Oct '15. Now weight is 2,3kg. Maybe will works better than before. Also top speed is up to 35km/h.

i have meanwhile "tuned" my keyde with 11s Lipo...

Topspeed now: 43-44km/h

~2000km so far - still running good and strong

Thank you for video. Does Keyde has resistance if you pedal without power supply?

no resistance

i have cut the battery-cable by accident (it was cut by the chain and pinion-gear), and to lazy to resolder it..
so i drove last winter for 3 month without Battery, but Motor still installed..

no Problem at all

so iam not so fond of the new motor which is shown here some postings ago

its heavier, its bigger (1cm more Diameter)
and its not that unobtrusively anymore, than the old one

there are enough other Motors in the 2.2kg+ Region..
the keyde was so cool, because it was so small and light - unique

having some fun with my keyde and the Trike:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/1lxfaw3OZ2w" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

the place was too small, the keyde takes it time to wind up, so i didn´t get max-speed because of the small place
when i desided to look for more space and did the first round - still not max-speed - the front-tire exploded... 4bar was too few of pressure ;)
