Hi All

Based in Ireland and reluctant to source from Far East (delivery times, freight cost, duty etc), I've been lurking around here for a while now and learning a lot. I came across a reference to Petrolscooter UK on Ebay who offer 500/1000W hub kit for front or rear. Prices seem ok with quick order turnround.
I'm not interested in speed as such but need torque for steep hills hereabouts.

Anyone here any experience of these kits? would greatly appreciate any user feedback before I commit.

Thanks a lot.

Maybe somebody has bought from that guy, but there are soooo many ebayers.

The kit itself looks ok, similar if not identical to the Yes.com kits that have been written about quite a bit on this forum.

They sell in the USA for 250-300 USD. I don't know the exchange rate, but the price looks reasonable.

Looks like the same GM 901 motor that many vendors like "Yes" sell. I would trust the motor well enough. But the vendor might be another issue. They call this a geared motor. it's gearless. The vendor probably doesn't know much about what he has. I wouldn't expect much useful technical support from them.

The price seems fair.

Guys, thanks for feedback and appreciate the link with Yescomusa - the kits do look remarkably similar....

Went online to order today but rear wheel drive now out of stock for about a month

Now looking at this as alternative from Nederlands: http://www.devi-motion.com/webshop/e-bike-kit/p-1/D1000063--prokit-901-36v-500w-26%22-rear.html

devi-motion ring any bells around here? Any feedback/user experience greatly appreciated.....

I've never heard of them. But that motor also looks like a GM 901, and they even name the kit a prokit-901. the controller is programable, which makes it interesting. I would suggest getting a battery from someplace more reputable, but I might risk my own money on that kit if I was in the market for one.

I bought to 1000W version of that kit from Devi-motion and had no problems. I can't comment on the quality of the batteries they sell as I went the RC lipo route.
