Title: Phaserunner V6 MT + Main9 + 600C: constant Error 30, no speed on display, PAS not engaging (motor runs fine on throttle)

Hey everyone, hoping for expert eyes on a display communication and PAS issue on a fresh build.

Setup is all Grin except the motor: Phaserunner V6 MT (firmware v6027, hardware ID 12), Z916 Julet motor harness, Main9 Simpleharness, Grin 600C APT display, bidirectional twist throttle (HiGo 3 pin), Grin 24 Pole PAS (quadrature, HiGo plug). Motor is a generic 2000W direct drive hub, 26 pole pairs, on a 52V pack.

What works: motor runs perfectly on throttle. Autotune completed clean (Rs 101 mOhm, Ls 213 uH). Dashboard in Phaserunner Suite shows healthy motor RPM under throttle, logs show 394 RPM no load at 57.3V with about 1A draw. No faults, green status. Power limits 38.4A battery / 90A phase, LVC 42.0/41.0.

Problem 1, display: the 600C shows a constant Error 30 and no live data at all, no watts, no speed, nothing reacts. Not the transient high-current ERR30 described on Grin's Superharness page, it is constant from power on. "Using KM5S Display" is checked and saved in PAS Setup. Firmware is already the newest offered in the Suite (6.027). Display's own menu has correct wheel size and 52V set. Tested with the TTL programming cable unplugged and after full power cycles. Wheel Sp. Sensor Pulses Per Rev is 0 (direct drive, motor halls), also tried 1 through 6 with proper saves, no change. Reseated the display plug on the Main9 harness and the Main9 plug at the controller, pins look fine.

Problem 2, PAS: pedal assist never engages. Pedal Sensor Type is [4] Two-Wire PAS, 24 pulses/rev, Control Command Source [4] Throttle OR Pedal Sensor, Reverse Mode disabled so PAS 2 isn't consumed by the Fwd/Rev function. On the Dashboard, Average Pedal Speed stays at 0.00 RPM while turning the cranks.

Questions:

  1. Is there any Port2/display parameter beyond the KM5S checkbox (Dev Screen address, protocol or baud setting) that must be set for the Main9 Simpleharness + 600C combo, as opposed to the smart Superharness?
  2. Has anyone seen a constant ERR30 on this exact combo that turned out to be something other than a dead serial line?
  3. For the 24P quadrature PAS plugged into the controller's 6 pin PAS plug, which Dashboard digital signal dots (PAS 1, Fwd/Rev or PAS 2) should blink while hand-turning the cranks, and does one dead channel produce exactly this symptom?

Everything points to the Port2 serial path or a harness fault before I email Grin for a warranty swap, but I'd rather not wait on shipping if someone knows a config fix. Thanks.
