How does one resize the pics?

Cool, but what happens if your passenger turns the opposite direction? LOL....

Yup, it's a slapping contest when it comes to turning ;)

Fixed the link - that's pretty sweet cant wait to see it electrified.

You're right Hillhater, when you put a proper electric motor (for over 15mph or more than 250w) the game changes and the authorities view it as a motor car. The smaller motor that keeps it out of the car zone is designated for hill climbing and legally has to cut off at 15mph. As it is with pedals alone, it's legal everywhere but on a highway. I'm the project lawyer, some of you may remember I posted last year when the guys took the original prototype from London UK to Gibraltar, the cops along the way loved it.

It weighs 57Kg now but the batteries will take it closer to 70Kg. We haven't checked top speed yet, it goes to over 25mph with 2 riders. I'm not the techie but I'm happy to relay any questions you guys may have.

Cheers

What are you defining as "highway" ?
In cop speak, that would be any public road ?
So , 70kg with the motor & batterys, + 2 peddlers will be about 250kg all up.
I suspect you are going to need more than 250W to help that up a hill at any speed never mind 15 mph!
Motorists get pissed at regular cyclists ( who can be doing 30+mph), so i cannot imaging them getting very enthusiastic about coming across one of these in the rush hour ?
What exactly is the target market for this device ?

@fingers- Spot on. The target market is rentals around the Med. We have a standing offer to get some over to New Orleans too but that looks more like a publicity stunt than green energy promotion.

@Hillhater- 250w is bloody useless even on a straightaway. We have to play along during the final road debugging. You think US cops are revenue raising jerks? I hope you don't ever come across the British version. Traffic in London moves so slowly now, our old boys have no problem keeping up by foot power yet they've still been stopped for causing a 'traffic distraction', people slow down to give a thumbs up or wave or ask where they can buy one.

There's no way around registering the vehicle in the long run with a sensible power system. How badly we get hammered when compared to the glorified golf carts is my legalese hurdle to overcome. My advice so far has been to get the hell out of the UK and go to a friendlier business climate. But where would that be? All governments fleece the public. Any ideas?

Try here in Canada, Ottawa the nations capital would love those for touristy things I think

It would be legal in a lot of places if it was a three wheeled vehicle. I'd like to build one of those and drive it to one of those drive-through Margarita joints.
